I shouted into the air, "Fairy godmother, help! Your goddaughter is about to be killed by that crazy prince!" A burst of pink smoke exploded in the air. The chubby witch, Rosalie Quinn, appeared. She floated in midair, still holding a half-eaten cookie. Rosalie blinked. "Oh, my dear Ryla, what's wrong? Didn't the prince fall in love with you? My magic is the best."

The vase tipped and fell straight toward the floor. My heart jumped into my throat. Right before the vase could kiss the floor, it just stopped. It hung there in midair, barely half an inch from the ground. Time seemed to freeze. Rick's grin froze on his face, and his eyes went wide like he'd seen a ghost.

This… was the room Vincent had given me when I first came to the Silverfang Pack.
