Ghost Whisperer was one of those shows that had a pretty solid run, and I remember binging it during a rainy weekend a few years back. The main character, Melinda Gordon, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, appeared in all five seasons of the show. One of the most heartbreaking deaths was Jim Clancy, Melinda's husband, who died in a car accident in Season 1. But then—plot twist—his spirit ended up in another man's body (Sam), and the whole thing got wild. Andrea Marino, Melinda's best friend, also died tragically in Season 2 after a car crash, leaving everyone devastated. Professor Rick Payne, one of my favorites, didn’t die but left the show mysteriously, which felt like a loss. And let’s not forget Eli’s brother Wes, who died young but haunted him later. The show really knew how to play with life and death.

Oh, and there were so many episodic characters who died and needed Melinda’s help to cross over—like that little boy Timmy in the pilot, or the WWII soldier in one of the later seasons. The show’s whole premise revolved around death, so it’s no surprise it hit hard every time. Still, Jim’s death (and rebirth?) was the one that stuck with me the most—it changed everything for Melinda.
