The Whispers in the Woods

The Whispers in the Woods

After a lifetime of thinking I didn’t fit into the world, it was just hard to imagine being out in it. The unknown voice hadn’t come back, and I was gutted. I had expected him to come. I had nicknamed him Pip after one of my favourite literary characters. It felt easier having a name for him. Although logically, he should have been Magwitch because they were both unseen guardians. That was how I saw him, an unseen hand helping me move forward. Except, when I needed him the most, he wasn’t there.

The Alpha's Ghost

The Alpha's Ghost

There was fresh blood on the floor, but the animal didn't react. I took a shaky step forward, my heart hammering against my ribs. The wolf didn't turn. I walked closer, standing five feet away and holding my bleeding hand out. Nothing. I walked until I was standing right next to the bars, inches from the cold metal. The wolf threw itself at the cage again, trying to get to Declan. Its claws sparked against the iron. It ignored me completely. I was invisible. "You really are a Ghost," Declan said softly. He walked up beside me. He raised the knife again and sliced his own palm.

Ghost Love

Ghost Love

Once he was no longer needed, Pete joined Melody in holding vigil at the window. They said nothing, but each was well aware of the difference in the behavior of a few of the spirits that wandered the charred earth. Not only were they looking more alert and becoming more animated, but they were starting to speak with each other. Pete was relieved to see that it was only a small portion of the spirits that were coming to life, but it was still enough to worry him. If bullets didn’t work on them, what were they supposed to use if those devils decided to attack? Harold’s vicious end would be embedded in his mind forever.

Whispers Across the Moon

Whispers Across the Moon

Linda's words initially left me completely bewildered. Before long, it all became horrifyingly clear. The chauffeur's hand landed on my shoulder, and with a brutal tug, he pulled me closer to him. A repugnant odor wafted from his mouth as he leaned in for a kiss. In my line of sight, Linda had retreated and sat beneath a towering oak tree, silently witnessing the unfolding events.

Elf To Tame A Werewolf

Elf To Tame A Werewolf

She leans forward and whispers, "You talk like a lord, walk like a lord...Hell, you fuck better than a lord." I dip a finger into the pipe, snuffing out the smoke. "Then you know my duties as a whisperer." "None of them come directly, I must say. Where are your spiders and little birds?" I bristle a bit. I had made it a point not to imitate Vormon, the last whisperer, and the others before him, in their more or less detestable ways of acquiring information across Quindar; taking in abandoned children and planting them in various parts of the realm to report back to them. Some had taken a more diabolical approach, using child mages and channeling bird genns.

snapping her hand and pointing it simultaneously at me for precision. "I can't wait to meet her and hear her predictions. Rumor has it that she's a reincarnation of the Great Whisperer, who can listen to the whispers of the moon". "Sure, she is. Historically, Yes." "You are the Whisperer in training then. To keep the balance after her." "Not at all. I'm a Sentinel. I train and lead the warriors. I can't imagine spending my days communicating with the moon and ancestors, it sound boring." She says, giving a short laughter.

ALPHA JAKE

ALPHA JAKE

I could hear the distant rustle of leaves and the occasional snap of twigs underfoot. “Who is this source?” I asked, trying to keep up with Selena’s brisk pace. “She’s a bit of a recluse,” Selena said. “Her name is Elara. She’s not part of any pack, but she has a way of knowing things. People call her the Whisperer.” “The Whisperer?” Fatima scoffed. “Sounds like something out of a bad horror movie.” Selena chuckled. “Maybe, but she’s good. Trust me.”

The Secret Whisperer

The Secret Whisperer

“It’s the only currency that matters. Don’t spend yours foolishly.” Ash nodded, though Linda suspected his stomach had churned. That foolish boy couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d just made a deal with the devil—and the devil had gotten the better end of it. Then the small man Linda had met at the entrance, the so-called Gatekeeper, cleared his throat, his voice tight with self-righteousness. “There is a spy among us,” he said evenly. The room erupted into whispers, all eyes darting around like pinballs in a broken machine. Linda’s pulse quickened, but she kept her face dull an covered with black scarf.

That I might just kill her for. There was no trace of life as I tiptoed my way towards the counter. Just as I began to wonder if I’d knocked her out, the Whisperer appeared. He stood on the other side and was looking down at the floor with careful contemplation. His smoke and shadow eyes flicked up to my face. “Give her a second, she’s plotting.” Well, how about that? I guess the liar could be helpful when he wanted.

Awesome book with a crazy, strong female. Has some typos and inconsistencies but still understandable as has decent grammar. Would be better if nox had shown more of his abilities to be at par with his strong mate

This was the 3rd Jane Doe book I read. Alpha nox is a really good read with a badass female lead. You're a talented author and I can say you've become my favorite author! My heart broke into pieces at some point but intense emotions are what I love the most about your work! Good job, Jane!
