“It is mine. Someone gave it to me as a gift, but I am not really a reader. Now I am giving it to you, so it would not be wasted.”
“Have you found your missing book?”
I found them both now. “Yes, I did.”
“Aren’t you suppose to say something in return?”
“Nope. Is it a requirement to say thank you whenever someone decided to give you a gift? You decided to give me something, and I accepted it, you should be thanking me instead.”
He laughed, “Thank you for accepting my gift, Mathilda.” It did not sound sarcastic to my ears.
I was in glee, that I jumped to him without looking around to see if anyone was watching us. And then I turned my lips on his ear, “You are welcome, Gabriel.” I murmured.
