Angus says, sounding completely unbothered. A surge of strength flows through me as my vision hyper focuses and I swear I can see the auroras of everyone in the room. Brutus has a wild wolf that thrashes around in excitement over beating me. Angus’ is a strange mist that lingers aimlessly around him, devouring little sparks of light he emits. I look over to Adriana in awe of what I am seeing and gasp at the beauty of her teal sparkling glow flickers like a failing fire. She is dying.

A flash of golden light streaked through her pupils as the power within her erupted from her fingertips, forming a blazing blade of light that slashed toward the rolling mist ahead. "Boom!" With a deafening explosion, the mist was violently cleaved open, torn into a massive gap. The core of the formation let out a cracking sound under the strain, and the illusory voices and visions vanished in an instant. As the mist dissipated, clarity returned to the scene before her. The ancient stone path still stretched beneath her feet, and the dark red blood trail stood out starkly against the stone surface, leading straight toward a ruined hall hidden within the clouds ahead.

Darkness crept at the edges of my vision, threatening to engulf me entirely. Alessia's scream pierced through the fog of agony, reverberating in my ears as a haunting melody. It was the last sound I registered before succumbing to the embrace of the abyss, my consciousness slipping away into the unknown.

Christian Agony is white, and suffering is red, a haze of red, and life is just a swarm of black mist clouding my vision. My only lucid thought now-- Trapped. My only feeling-- Too many feelings: panic, hatred, confusion, anger, regret… A spear of light stabs down into my skull as the lid of this tomb is once again shoved aside with a grating of stone. The most lovely pair of guarded and seemingly depthless, darkest eyes hold my fracturing stare--

Blood bubbles out of the corner of his mouth as he sputters out his dying breaths. Suddenly, his eyes glaze over—but it is not the glaze of death . . . no, this is something . . . different. Trust me, I’ve seen the ‘glaze of death’ enough times to be able to recognize it. There is still consciousness in his eyes—probably more consciousness than there had been moments before—but now there’s something of a distant, crazed glint to his glare. More intent, more focused. If I believed in Voodoo magic, the combination of this horrifying glare and his bloody visage would make me think he’d turned into a zombie.

I am engulfed, burning from the inside out, as the inferno dances within, leaving naught but ashes in its wake. There's a haunting beauty in the piercing cry that shatters the silence, a raw heart-wrenching sonnet of agony escaping from the depths of my anguish. My voice, a raw symphony of pain, paints the space with the visceral strokes of an emotion too intense to be confined. My eyes open, embracing bleeding obsidian and clutching at shadows, my breath a delicate tremor of fear. Every unseen whisper becomes a phantom, and the absence of light is a canvas for my imagination to weave tales of untold terrors.

A gigantic doorway was before them, gleaming like gold yet terrifying to see. "Is this a nightmare?Are we really going to pass through this horrible thing?" Trevor snarled, his gaze drawn to the shimmering gate in front of him. It was a terrifying vision, for what lay before their eyes was emptiness itself; an infinite abyss that seemed to suck all light away from its surroundings. The only light came from within themselves, where they could vividly see each other's features mirrored back at them with great clarity.

But she knew what exposure did to a newborn. She knew what the cold was doing to her daughters right now. She knew with the calm clarity of someone who had run out of options that the words she was saying and the reality she was standing in were not the same thing. Grrrrm. Low. Guttural. Coming from the dark ahead. Ivy lifted her head and saw two eyes burned in the rain. Red and enormous. Each one glowing like something that had swallowed a light source whole. Then two more. Then more still...getting closer.

Strands of glowing mist began to leak from my pores, drifting toward the mirrors. "What are you doing?" I tried to grab the mist. My hands went right through it. "I’m cleaning you out. All that messy emotion. All that useless hope. I need the energy, Aradaa. The sun is waiting for its final breath." The glass beneath me began to glow. On the other side of the floor, a dozen versions of me were screaming. I couldn't hear them, but I could see their mouths moving. Their fingernails scraped against the glass, leaving white streaks.

Lying on the ground, dazed,disoriented and in pain, I gaze back at the alley where the van ominously flashes its headlights before slowly retreating. "Good," I whisper to myself, relief mingling with lingering dread. "They won't be coming after me." Darkness encroaches upon my consciousness, pulling me into a sweet embrace of oblivion.
