It had been snowing that night, and i could still remember me taking off the snowflakes that had fallen on her wild red hair which were long and wavy. He didn't have much time. Jack ventured another glance back through the window. This time the office door was closed and dark. The light from the hall gleamed beneath it, reflecting off the tile floor of the office. He bit the middle finger of one static suction glove, removing it as he pulled his head to the side. He lay the naked hand against the cool glass and summoned the hot fire that coursed through his DNA. The glass started to glow red, orange, and then white hot. It melted away from his palm. He continued until the hole was big enough for his body and then pulled himself easily through. The noise canceling tech masked his movements as the molten glass dripped on the floor.

I blot my tears, whirling in despair as I search in vain for the door, for the way back to him. But a soft glow radiates all around me, turning the glassy gems beneath my feet to shining stars that look like they were just plucked from the heavens. Light fills my eyes as I bring my hands to my face, stifling a gasp. My hands glow like–like gold. Like the stars flickering overhead. My fingertips are laced with what I can only describe as magic that weaves between my fingers and down my wrists, pulsating under my skin in time with my thundering heart beat.

“Hot d*mn! To think that there was another palace down here! In fact, this one looks much larger than the previous one!” exclaimed Ray. “Please be careful, everyone! And don’t do anything stupid!” warned Gerald, hoping that everyone had learned their lesson about randomly touching things. “Copy that! Still, what are those things, Mr. Crawford…? They look so luxurious!” asked Ray as he walked toward one of the platforms to get a closer look. “Those are Treasure Glaze Platforms. They’re specially used to light up candlesticks used for sacrificial rituals. The fires in them can last forever!” explained Old Flint when he saw that Gerald was making no effort to reply.
