Gluttony Vs Greed Novels & Stories

The guests criticized me again, “People get married to build a life together. You got married just to scheme against your mother-in-law, didn’t you?” “If everyone could get a million dollars just by getting married, why bother working? They might as well get money by taking a wife.” Their gazes were as sharp as blades that could kill. “A man as wicked and cunning as you would’ve been beaten to death back in the old days.” I did not bother arguing with them anymore. Instead, I walked over and turned on the giant screen in the banquet hall. Everyone could see the record of Emerald’s transfer to my bank account as well as our chat history.

Adam watched the young man seated Infront of him with his legs propped on his knee. He looked totally relaxed and contented, not having a care for anything as he counted the money Adam had given him. He saw the greedy way his hands shook, probably because the money he had been given was more than he had been expecting. Adam stroked his chin as he thought about all the money he made from the number of people Duncan had fooled into coming out to watch the show. It was more than business as usual, it was a cash out. Duncan was his recent link to high society; his old link having been killed after the idiot had tried to outsmart him. Adam didn't like greedy people, but he had come to realize tha

I laughed and her question. "I want everything." I whispered, but they heard me, "I want to have it all and feel pleasure in taking everything these me think is not worth taking. I will have it all. You watch and see." "So, this is just about greed?" Ruby asked, wiping her tears. "No," I shook my head and sighed, "This is so much more than greed. It will be useless to explain because your basic lives wouldn't understand." I shrugged. I moved back and changed the subject as they watched me quizzically.

The breath that I was holding inside came out of my mouth like the leaking gas of a balloon. I was slightly taken aback but tried to look normal as I felt he was staring at me. He tried to prove himself innocent this time, didn't he? Of course, he planned it. He is already so lucky, the breadwinner but I think he wants more. People are just greedy animals. When he gets a seat to sit, he wants a bed to lay down. Greed is all about acquiring things. Acquiring money, acquiring power, acquiring attention, acquiring time and so on. The running mantra is "I want. I want. I want."

– And he will gain part of that innocent person’s wishes. - Both will be taken to their kingdoms, both the person who was sacrificed and those who sacrificed them. - Said. - Why would a blessed soul practice sin? – Asked Lucifer. - For the greatest and oldest of sins. - Said the voice. - Greed is pride, avarice is gluttony, and pride is beyond lying. - Said the voice. Greed will be used. – We will give a wealth equal to the greed of the world. - Said. – If you win.

Killing was a second nature to them, a simple chore, and I doubted they even felt like they were doing something wrong. The nuns in the church were right all along; greed and power are a consuming fire. They turn humans into monsters, making them do absolutely anything to fill their endless desires. The prime, horrific example of that saying was sitting right in front of me, at the head of a table of murderers.

Sloth, another man, his eyes struggling to stay open, draped in dirty clothes, dirty bedding, the floor around him piled with rotting rubbish, he was drowning in split bin bags, rubbish building up around him. Greed: this time, it was a woman, spinning around and grabbing at all the glittering jewellery piled on the shelves near her. At her feet, confused, crying and clearly neglected, her two children were clinging to her skirt, their small hands lifted to her, begging for her attention, but she ignored them, continuing to reach for things she never got a hold of.

‎Always the downfall of humans. ‎He squinted slightly, studying her expression; the hunger, the ambition, the thirst for power she might never live to enjoy. ‎What end did human greed ever have, if not death? ‎Butler Thomas’s thoughts were unfathomable, his presence heavy, as though he were anything but human.

And the same went for the fighters in the underground boxing ring, battered, broken, or killed in the ring, they were his puppets too, performing for his amusement. Human greed was like opening Pandora's box, once unleashed, it refused to shut. It only grew, deeper and more ravenous, like a black hole that couldn't be filled. And when someone's ability failed to keep up with their desires, they teetered right on the edge of damnation. Alfred was the perfect case in point, driven by insatiable greed, always chasing more. Even after pocketing enough wealth to last several lifetimes, he wasn't satisfied. He kept wagering his life as if it were pocket change.

And it's true, Veto is the living proof of that. I witnessed him turning from a loyal and humble dog to a greedy and sly fox. I had saw it with my own two eyes how he had killed the King Lycaon. How his eyes were filled of greed, envy and hatred as he strike the late king with his swords and how his mouth moves upward when he saw King Lycaon bleeding in his feet. That's how people can easily change the moment they give in to their greed. The Gods are right. Greed is power.
