Drake was enjoying his lunch and maybe a cold beer on the tractor. We were busily chewing our sandwiches when Bobby asked, “You hitting the movie tonight? Think it’s a monster flick. Creature from the Black Lagoon.” I swallowed and nodded. “Absolutely. Last week’s movie was Little Orphan Annie. So lame. Gonna meet up with Bill Ward. He loves those old monster movies.” Bobby smiled. “Funny. Pastor’s Kid into horror movies. But he’s pretty solid. Not like some PKs.” “Yeah, he’s cool. Got a nice comic book collection, too.”

The Wicked Witch stood tall as she came to the ruined Village. She looked everywhere, raising her staff with closed eyes to listen to the wandering souls around. She prepared herself, for the good, the bad and the worst. A month had passed since the massacre happened to the Village. It had been quite a long time since Calleb marked the young woman named Accashia. A month is enough for a pure soul to be tainted. To be filled with fear, remorse and regret. For if the soul hasn’t been harvested by the ram within the time of death — the soul becomes a ghoul. Wicked. Spiteful. Dark.

I wondered if he was purposely trying to appear more powerful that Edge. "Are you looking forward to witnessing your first gargoyle coronation?" Graves still held my hand. I pulled it away slowly, fighting the urge to wipe it off. "Sure." "I think you'll enjoy it. As you can see, we are roasting a goblin shark and there will be fish cakes, shellfish salad, and horseradish stew." His gaze bored into me. I wondered what the horrible smell was when I first came in. "Sounds great," I lied, trying to appear excited.

As the thought crossed her mind, a loud grumble suddenly echoed through the room. Then another. Jane turned toward the table. Gabby quickly wiped the corner of her mouth before looking up at her with wide, watery eyes filled with pitiful hunger. Beside her, even Gabriel looked slightly embarrassed as his stomach betrayed him with another growl. The sight nearly made Jane laugh despite herself. They looked less like terrifying vampire children and more like abandoned kittens waiting to be fed. In the end, she could not bring herself to refuse those expressions. “…Alright,” she sighed softly.

Yesterday evening, I had already noticed the gathering clouds and knew that it would soon start raining. Thus, I had gone to fish at the nearby river. I had also visited the vegetable garden to get some carrots. Everything else came from the kitchen. When I was still missing some items, I bought them from the player market with some points. “I want a bowl of fish stew!” “I want vegetable stew!” “I want both!” After years of being in this world, the ghouls had slowly lost their senses. But since they could taste again, they had quickly thrown away all compunction to eat as much as they wanted.

His throat no longer made that beastly growling noise. Instead, it turned into a huge, wet gulping sound. My actions once again shocked those who were watching the live broadcast. [You’ve gotta be kidding me. Granny’s cooking in a horror dungeon?] [Pickled cabbage and potato stew! Holy crap, I can smell it through the screen! That’s insane!] [Wait, did the Hungry Dead’s drool just… turn clear? It’s not bloody anymore?] [Help! Why am I actually getting hungry watching this? That can’t be right!]

It said, sounding sure of itself. “Maybe an animal just took its last breath.” The other opined, “It’s the dark forest. Things die by the second. Let’s go.” “No. Just wait a second. If I am right, it means one more soul in the bag.” He stated gleefully and walked around, kicking everything in sight. I knew that move. It was a ghoul’s tactic aimed at catching anything that thought it could outsmart it by holding its breath. It was general knowledge that a ghoul would kick everything - including a dead animal - for days to ascertain it was truly dead and not pretending.

They were midway across the path, in front of a cemetery when suddenly graves started opening. "What is going on?" Isabella asked, clutching onto Chris tightly. Chris was suddenly sweating so furiously but Ariel was cool and her face was blank and devoid of any emotions. They stood there watching six tombs open and six scary-looking ghosts walked out. Isabella was already whitish in appearance knowing who they are. Chris's hairs were all up and his eyes green, his normal sight nature. "GREETINGS TO THE SPECIAL ONE." One of them muttered. "GREETINGS TO THE LITTLE GODDESS." Another muttered.

Walter rumbled as they all settled their attention on Mantilo. "These claw markings....the scent of bile....the black fluids...." The large Clan Head said at first instead of answering, glancing dispassionately at the damage and claw marks all about the room. "That's is a definite sign that what I had feared all this time is true." He finally began. "These things, these intruders are called Ghouls. I hadn't come across one of their kind in many decades. So when I first spotted the dead moose's and the black slime on the bodies my memory was tickled, but I couldn't exactly put the pieces together until I visited the library and recovered a few scrolls...."
