Ivana stood there confused as several thoughts flooded her mind. “Yes, mortal.” His eyes bore into her. “And being bound to you…” His jaw clenched. “Only deepens my hatred for humans.”

The Custodian walked toward an old filing cabinet against the far wall. Unlocked it. Pulled out a single yellowed folder. The paper looked ancient. Decades old. Carefully preserved. The Custodian placed it on the desk. Nobody touched it. Not yet. Finally— the Custodian said the words that changed everything. "Genesis wasn't created by Cross." Silence. Heavy silence.
