In a nutshell, Lexie's family was strapped for cash, and it was Lia who had pulled her into the high-stakes game of fragrance mixing. Lexie had been under Lia's thumb ever since, doing grunt work for Lia's label even before she got into the competition scene. Helma had caught a whiff of Lexie's creations before and could tell—this girl had a gift, a real knack for conjuring up scents. The thought of being out with Lorens sister scares me abit, however she seems very nice.
