Mother, May I
I look up to see Jacob descending from the sky.
Thank the Goddess.
Even with everything he’s become—seeing him is grounding.
JoJo sprints forward, and Jacob swoops down, catching her around the waist. They kiss midair before landing gently on the ground together.
I move between patients, healing broken bones, internal injuries, and everything in between.
“Where’s Hermes?” JoJo asks as she and Jacob separate.
“Right here, asteráki mu,” Hermes says from behind her.
He’s with my twins, Nathan, and Persephone. JoJo and Jacob launch themselves at Hermes. Summer and Jared throw themselves at Rowen. Persephone rests a hand on Nathan’s shoulder, sympathy shining in her gaze.
