Tomorrow, I had a meeting to run. The conference room at Eternal Jewelry Designs was the kind of space that put people in their place without saying a word. Floor-to-ceiling windows. A long mahogany table that caught the morning light and held it. Everything clean, deliberate, and expensive in a way that didn't need to announce itself. I arrived first, as always.

SVIP Room, 8th Floor of Paradiso. The SVIP room at Paradiso is reserved for high-class clientele with wealth, status, and influence. Nearly everything in this room is adorned with gold—the door handles, lamp stands, fruit bowls, the chairs with golden trim, and even the tables and ashtrays are embellished with gold. Soft, enchanting lighting reflected off the golden fixtures, adding to the opulent atmosphere. At this moment, in the spacious private room, there were only two people—a man and a woman.

I'm left to wonder what the view will look like when the sun goes down. Two huge chandeliers hang above me, all bronze and frosted glass, casting this golden light that makes everything look expensive. Really expensive. But what makes my mouth go dry is the platform in the middle of the room. There's this massive wooden desk up there; a dark mahogany with gold trim that probably costs more than Isa's entire apartment. Behind it, there is a chair which looks more like a king's throne than office furniture. The sound of my heels as I move closer makes the man sitting behind the desk swirl the chair around to face me.

Books rested on the shelves and I wondered if he read them or kept them there for the sake. Glancing at the street through the glass, someone cleared his throat behind me. I turned and swallowed. The L-shaped counters had glass cabinets on top, and the middle area had a wide golden metal decoration. Overall, the store screamed LUXURY! We walked up to the counter where two women, both wearing white, long-sleeved button-down shirt stood with a welcoming smile. “Welcome to Suede and Gold.” One on the right said. “Thanks. I’m here to pick up what I paid for yesterday.” “What is your name, sir?” “Kai Petrova.” She typed quickly on the computer in front of her. The lobby was huge with a high cathedral ceiling from which a massive chandelier hung and the black marble tiles from the floor glistened and as I looked down, I saw myself reflected in their sheen. The walls were covered in the same dark purple marble, but they were accentuated with gold trim. The company logo on the wall shone burnish gold and the handles of all the doors were all in gold. I was impressed by the interior as well as the building itself. I approached the massive reception desk and forced a wide smile on my face. Even though I was nervous and anxious, for some reason I couldn’t pinpoint it. I put on my charming smile and walked up to the receptionist hoping the fake smile did

The wall paper was cream with gold flecks, the writing desk was cast in gold, the chandelier shimmered with Swarovski crystals in gold settings.
