I grab shorts and a tank top, pull them on, and walk back out. The smell hits me immediately. Calix has already set the food on the table, spicy ramen, corn, crabs, everything laid out neatly. My stomach growls loud enough to embarrass me. My wolf perks up instantly, practically pressing against my ribs. Food, she hums, pleased. I sit beside him, barely waiting before reaching out. He hands me a chopstick, his fingers brushing mine for half a second longer than necessary. I pretend not to notice. I dig into the ramen, spice hitting my tongue just right.
