Then all of a sudden, she unwound, and her entire body became completely slack. It took me a few seconds before I realized that she had lost consciousness. I had a moment of sheer terror during which I contemplated the possibility that she had passed away or been injured. But once her heart rate returned to normal, I realized that she had simply fallen into a deep sleep. I attempted to wake her up by shaking her, but she did not respond in any way. The next second, a white flash nuked my vision and forced my eyes shut. When I opened them again, my living room had straight-up rage quit and turned into a blood-red wasteland. "Okay, what the hell?" I squinted and spotted my six-foot-two husband, Adrian Chase, already doing the whole protective-dad thing with one arm around our son.

"N-night bar? What does this mean, Sara?!” I couldn't stop screaming in shock, she immediately stepped on the brake because of that. "Why are you screaming, do you want us to die?!" Sara looked at me, her eyes becoming sharp, "what's surprising in a night bar? You are twenty-eight years old, so isn't it right for you to experience that too?" I stopped at what I heard, "W-what am I supposed to experience?" I asked her curiously, "If it's just a night bar, I don't want to experience that."

I feel so exhausted that shortly after watching a movie that catches my attention, my eyelids close and I fall into deep sleep. I wake up out of nowhere, my eyes squinting in madness and almost jumping up, which ends up causing the tormenting pain to return to my chest with lightning speed. The bad dream of Greece formed memory assaulting me on the night of the supermoon that assails me to some extent once a day, leaving me worried and fostered in top form. “Did you rest soundly?” Gabriel's voice makes me turn to the left in a split second, thinking he's perched on the singular sofa and with the controller in one hand. They have a doctor and an engineer as sons. Because there was a bathroom in the room, I showered before sleeping. For the pleasure of the water's heat, there was only the rumbling of the shower. After dressing, I quickly retired to bed and closed my eyes, exhausted. I was sobbing as I saw all I had dreamed of gradually going away. They surrounded my nose with an unknown scent, and the caress reawakened me. "Do not yell," a baritone voice said, and my nerves were on the verge of exploding.

But with how recurrent my dreams were becoming, it was beginning to get my loved ones worried I might be losing it. “Boss, you had one of your nightmares again,” he explained as he handed me a glass of water, and I took it, quickly gulping it down in one go. “This is the fourth one this week, and this time around, you were so loud, it scared Andrea.” The mention of Andrea being scared of me sent shivers down my spine. “What do you mean I scared Andrea, John? Come on, her room’s far away, and besides, I don’t believe anyone heard my screams,” I argued, but he shook his head in denial and took a seat on the bed.

I suggested after a while of us just sitting there and staring at the black screen in front of us. “Scary movie? Now?” He asked with a frown. “No, tomorrow morning!” I deadpanned. “I really need to get use to this.” He muttered out under his breath but I heard him. “This is the perfect time to watch a scary movie, at night and in a new apartment.” I rummaged through my rack of DVDs and found one of my favorites, The Wolfman. Satisfied, I settled down on the couch beside Alejandro, crossed my legs Indian-styled and pulled the blanket over my legs.

They were gray, smudged traces of something that looked like ash and formaldehyde. Last night was the worst. We didn't even bother trying to sleep. We sat on the sofa, clutching each other, all the lights in the house blazing. Around 2:00 AM, the power flickered and died. The darkness was absolute, heavy and suffocating. Then we heard it. Not from the hallway. Not from the nursery. The sound came from beneath the sofa cushions. Giggle. A wet, bubbly laugh erupted from directly beneath us. We scrambled back, tripping over the coffee table. I fumbled for my phone and turned on the flashlight. The beam cut through the dark, hitting the space where we had just been sitting.
