Maya blinked. "The gala? But you hate those networking events. You always make Daniel go instead."
"Well, things change." I pulled out a heavy, structured gown. It was midnight black silk, with a neckline that plunged dangerously low, a completely open back, and a thigh-high slit that was practically a safety hazard. It didn't look sweet. It looked lethal.
"Holy shit," I whispered, holding it up against myself. "This is it."
"It's... dark...and very...uhm...it exposes you a lot, darling..." Maya said, her eyes wide. "Besides, doesn't Daniel always says you look best in blush pink?"
