There was a short silence that followed and Franny was grinning broadly when I glanced over at her. “My favorite one was the story about the daughter that goes on a Road Trip with her daddy,” Franny crooned. As she said it, her eyes glanced up at Bob and I saw a crooked grin wash across his face. “Yes. Grace hated speed limits. She had the windows rolled down, music blasting, hair whipping in the wind as her little black car flew down the road. Well until a cop car caught up with her. I stayed with granny listening to her stories and laughing till it was dinner time. My stomach made rumbling sounds to granny’s amusement so I excused myself to go get something to eat.
