The words wrote themselves in a rush, slanting and ugly.
The sky‑slab hit the line of text.
Reality stuttered.
The stone lost its integrity mid‑drop, liquefying in an instant. It became a cascading sheet of black, splashing over Selene’s shadow‑dome and the floor around her like spilled calligraphy.
The impact rocked her, but the weight was gone.
Ink ran in rivulets under her boots, hissing as it seeped into cracks, leaving only a faint dark stain where she’d almost been crushed.
