He targeted the mountain itself. Malik reversed the localized gravity directly above the Boma. The ancient, massive cobblestones of the courtyard began to violently tremble. Then, with a deafening screech of tearing earth, the stones began to float upward. Trees were ripped out of the soil by their roots, drifting into the sky like dandelion seeds. Deep below, in the Warren, the ceiling began to aggressively fracture. Huge chunks of basalt broke loose, crashing into the reservoir. The screams of the refugees echoed up through the ventilation shafts.

I felt it. Before Aldrin could even complete his move, Magnon knocked him away in less than a quarter of a second. The strike was silent but deadly, heavy with raw power. Aldrin’s body flew through the air at an angle I could not tell. He flew so high that I could only see him as a small dot against the dark sky. That was when a scream slipped from my lips, fear gripping me because what the hell was that? For a long moment, I thought the clouds would swallow him. Or maybe disappear in the air that was swallowing him up there. But finally, like magic, gravity remembered him.

He blinks. Now he is standing, on his feet, in the middle of a mediaeval village. Cobblestone streets, black smoke in the air. The smell of fire and rusted metal raided his nose. A bell rang, and Roy turned towards the sound. Then everything shifted. Gravity shifted. The world tilts sideways. He falls into the sky, not down but sideways, buildings scattering like feathers as he flies past, unable to control his momentum, villagers going about their lives as if the world hadn’t just betrayed physics for him.

When we reach the top of the tree, we have the perfect view of the roof of the compound, which is surprisingly unguarded. Frowning, I continue to take it in in confusion until I spot something just to the right, stirring in the shadows. “What the fuck is that?” I hiss as a large, dark creature gives a mighty stretch and then lays down again. “Fido,” Migel responds, smirking. “Come along.” Biting back my next question, I watch with wide eyes as Migel leaps and begins to plummet toward the roof like some fucking flying squirrel until he hits the roof and rolls.

The game has finally started. Complete mayhem breaks out. I take a glimpse at Matt, only to find him staring astonished at the moving walls. My brain is frozen trying to find a logical explanation of what is happening around us. Platforms of all sizes stand out at different heights, while the floor is falling apart. I duck just in time before the surface under my feet breaks into small particles and vanishes in the bottomless abyss. We all start jumping and grabbing the newly formed prominences, away from the hole in the ground and moving up to a safer spot.

Magnusson told her as he started to move. “No that is alright, I don’t want you to miss the start of the show. I will only be a few moments.” Majesta told him as she moved out of the box. He nodded she turned back around heading back to the stairs. It was the oddest thing; she could have sworn someone was following her. When she looked back she saw no one in the hall. She made it to the top of the stairs next thing she knew she was falling. It was horrible to know that she might end up dead because of some stupid stairs. The fall wasn’t too bad, it was the stop that hurt her. Her head must have smacked the floor hard because she passed out.

Might be an illusion or reality warp spell. The van stopped for a while and suddenly, we went down the steep hill. Eve was screaming, while Louise is clinging to my arm for dear life. I also heard masculine screams from the boys which made me lightly chuckle. The breathtakingly deadly hill was conquered and now we’re back on land. But I noticed that we weren’t moving forward, we were moving downward. “Guys, it’s quicksand,” Gab announced. “What?!” Eve shrieked. “Someone has to go out and levitate us!”

The aspirin was useless. Not because it didn't function anymore, but because Vanessa found that she didn't need it after all. Her migraines died out after her talk with Jake and they did not return. When she woke in the morning, she grabbed her phone to see if Jake had texted her, while half-praying he hadn't texted her. But there was no message from an unknown number. She frowned, a little disappointed, and she did not understand why she felt disappointed. She sighed, dropped her phone and rolled out of bed.
