Great Books Under 300 Pages Novels & Stories

I walked over to the children's books area, I was thankful no one was around as I sat down in a beanbag after grabbing a few books to read. "Ella, stop slouching around and get to work" my manager yells at me, there was no one in the shop while I was sitting around here. I looked up to see a woman standing next to the register, I huffed angrily and put the book away before walking over to the nice looking lady. "Hi ma'am, how may I help you?" I ask the woman, she was only about five feet tall, with brown long hair and brown eyes. "Hello, I'm here for the new werewolf story" she says looking at me, I tried my best to hide under my own overgrown bangs.

In the back of the room, someone guffawed. "Jane?" "I read A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens. It has 422 pages." Jane tried to say it in a matter-of-fact tone, but she couldn't keep the glee out of her voice. Then she read her page. Like Emily's, it told mainly what the book was about. But the plot of the A Tale of Two Cities was so complicated that it was that easy to summarize in a page.

I didn’t hesitate. I pulled Fifty Shades of Grey first (cliché, yes, but I needed an entry point), then The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice, Story of O, a slim volume called The New Topping Book just to balance it out, and two anthologies with titles like Bound Hearts and Surrender to Me. The stack felt heavy in my arms, like contraband. I carried them to the my corner and hid them under the table. I sat down, and opened the first book.

Most of them have only one picture on the page and are a quarter of the size of a regular book. "Shit." I say quietly. "I can't believe it still costs ten bucks for a book that only has six pages. I can get a two hundred page paperback at the grocery store for the same price." Tiffany smirks. "But does your two hundred page paperback have fur like this touchy-feely book with a tiger on the front?" "It has fur?" I grab it out of her hands and begin going through it, touching all the different pictures as I turn the pages.

One year quickly passed leaving tons of questions and dramas, the TV adaptation of the first book of the three-part series is finally shown and it's immediately trended on social media. "Congratulations, Ms. Cela! You are now a certified blockbuster writer," Hyun said. "Thank you but I'm hardly a blockbuster writer so please stop saying that. Then: _That is a record for you_ _You used to read one chapter a month_

Why can't they just have one or two really good books, instead of three or four adequate ones? I pick up one of them, see that it's about good and evil fairies that are at war, and quickly put it back. I am not reading four hundred pages of fake conflict and two fairy hunks fighting over a fairy princess. Give me a cliché werewolf or vampire story any day.

This is the first bookstore I have been to, the books before were for learning, not stories. "Okay, how about telling me some books you have read and if you enjoyed them?" He looks at me waiting. "Yeah, see I haven't read stories. I read books that are to help you learn but never read purely for pleasure." "Okay, I have a few suggestions, follow me." He walks through and I follow, not missing Troy's eyes on me, while he has his phone in his hand. "Here, so, these are small books. Each one has short stories in, between one thousand and ten thousand words each story. Based on a specific genre." I watch as he picks up three and holds them out.

And one more thing, did he know what course I'm pursuing? "Thank you." I smiled after getting these three books. I looked at it. The yellow book is named 'A Brief History of Economic Genius', and the one with blue layouts and a picture of the book is named 'Warren Buffett Accounting'. I think Warren Buffett is the name of the author of this book. And the third book is named 'The Bottom Line Is Betrayal'. It has the cover of people who wear all black, his cap got my attention. I am sincerely thankful for this.

I pulled another one out and was about how to buy your time, authored by Dan Martell. Again and again, nothing I found was useful. I nearly gave up when my eyes fell on a bigger book. It was actually one of the biggest books there. It had a yellow cover and I pulled it out, and glanced at it, my eyes glinting at the title, ‘Werewolf And Its Powers’. Flipping through it, the first pages had no significance so I kept on turning pages, hoping to dig out what I wanted. And eventually I paused, stopping to read what it was written.
