As though on cue, three pairs of eyes glow. I pause in my search, rooted to the spot in that moment, my stomach clenching so tight it feels like I’ll faint. The glow was unnatural. Ethereal. Terrifying. Even Ally shrinks in my head, whimpering. Red. Amber. Black-gray — these are the colors of their eyes in the dark. Faintly, I smell them, stepping closer. No hand has touched me yet, I feel their breaths heavy, surrounding me. “She smells so nice,” one states,

When her gaze flickered to me, something flashed in those green eyes of hers, but it was gone before I could tell what it was. What was this feeling?

She felt nauseated. She felt movement in her hand near these bodies. She did not know when someone came and sat next to her. Due to the darkness, she could not see the face of that person, but yes, she could definitely see the eyes, which were shining green in the darkness. The rest of the eyes were black, maybe that's why she could only see the green eyeballs. In fact, there was no color at all around him, as though someone just covered her entire body with a sheet of black ink. It looked really creepy.

I turned my face to the window, defeatedly resting my forehead on it. I stared at my reflection, my eyes were a burning teal. Yet another abnormality. Sometimes werewolves expressed strong emotions through their eyes. When they felt anger, anxiety, or lust, their eyes shone a fervid yellow. Mine shone teal. I stared at my palms, what the hell was I?

His features were severe, almost sculpted—like a blade given human form. His eyes were cold. Grey tightening intensity. Glacial. The second moved with quieter grace. Silver-blond hair tied loosely at the nape, long enough to brush the collar. Pale skin that seemed to catch the light instead of reflecting it. His mouth curved in the faintest suggestion of a smile that never reached his eyes. Those eyes— God. They were green. Magnetic hypnotic green, a deep shade that made you look twice. The room went silent. Girls stared openly. One dropped her pen. Someone near the back whispered, “They’re insane…”

Like gravity deciding on a direction. He stopped close enough that I had to tilt my chin up to hold his gaze. Close enough that I could feel the warmth coming off him — which made no sense because the room was cold. A cold that had nothing to do with windows or seasons. The kind that lives in forgotten places. It had arrived when he did. His eyes were very green. Until they weren't. A half second. Less. Something behind the green — deep and burning and old. Not human old. Older than that.

“I’m so freakin’ jealous, my eyes are turning green.” They all looked at his sulky mint-green eyes and burst into laughter.

But Love? I splash my heated face with cold water before staring at myself in the bathroom mirror. The girl turned woman staring back at me looks happy. Her cheeks are flushed, and her lips are swollen from kisses. Her hair looks full and healthy, but it's her eyes that startle me. They are bright green. Greener, than I have ever seen. They are wide with fear and shock.......and maybe glee. But I know my fears—the fears of the uncertain. I should avoid the happiness. I can't get addicted to these feelings, because what if?? What if I lose?

“Maylshka, is there a problem?” When she turns to me I’m shocked to find she has gray eyes. They are gunmetal gray then become bright silver. Those eyes do not match her toffee-colored skin, should they not be a soft brown or even black? That has to be the reason I cannot look away from them. Her mouth is sexy as fuck, soft, plush, wide and opens in surprise at me. At the feel of her eyes running over me, a shudder runs through me that has nothing to do with the cold. It is unlike anything I have ever felt before, filling me with unease.
