The Missing Luna

The Missing Luna

My tears continue rolling down my face, flooding the room with despair. Losing someone so precious to me broke my spirit. I feel my world crumbling down. I feel like my heart died along with my beloved grandmother. Then Alex enveloped me in his comforting embrace. I buried my face into his chest, soaking his shirt in the process. Intense grief filled my entire being. I'm devastated beyond measure. Alex holds me securely in his arms, comforting me and becoming my anchor during the darkest moments of my adult life.

Saving the Wilsons

Saving the Wilsons

And this class is full of them. "Good afternoon, everyone. Today is going to be a little different.....," Sarah, the new grief leader, says as she walks over to hold Elaine's hand. "Today, we are going to focus on Elaine Graham and Janelle Graham..... They lost a loved one only two days ago......Ms. Graham, please let it out. Everyone in this room has lost someone," Sarah says as she turns her attention entirely to Elaine. "I....I. I'm not ready to bury my baby. I was supposed to be gone long before my girls," Elaine manages to get out before breaking into tears.

Dragon King's Human Mate

Dragon King's Human Mate

As I wiped away my tears to make room for Alice to pay her respects, I saw that one after another, everyone followed in a solemn procession. After the funeral service, I found myself staring at the pictures of my parents and Grandpa, lost in memories and sorrow. It was Gunther's cooing that brought me back from the edge of sadness. His innocent smile, free of tears, was a comforting sight amidst the grief. It reminded me of the cycle of life and the small joys that can pierce through the darkness of loss.

she says aloud. “Do you need help?” I ask in return. “Nope. Get your coffee and sit down.” Laughing softly, I hunt for the biggest mug I can find, fill it to the brim, and join Gayle at the table. Her eyes are red and swollen. She, like anyone else, isn’t immune to the breaking of a bond. “How are you?” I ask as I stir my coffee. “I didn’t think it would hurt this much when he died. Goddess knows, I wanted him dead…I'm glad he's dead. I don’t even know why I’m crying.”

Tears on My Gravestone

Tears on My Gravestone

I perched on the TV, watching as he destroyed my home. I'd imagined a thousand times how Jayden would react when he found out I was dead. I always hoped he'd grieve for me. That would've meant I meant something to him. But now, watching this, I wasn't sure it counted as caring. I just felt tired. All I wanted was for him to remember to bury me right. After a full day of chaos, he finally wore himself out. Jayden slowly crouched down, his hand hovering near my face before jerking back. He buried his face between his knees, trembling faintly. Then, a low chuckle escaped him.

His Daddy Is My Second Chance Mate

His Daddy Is My Second Chance Mate

He was much closer to Flora while she was battling with this illness. My gaze fixed on the amber hues of the scotch in his glass, a symbolic elixir attempting to drown the sorrows that no spirit could truly alleviate. The complexities of grief seemed to defy any simple solution, and my heart ached for Lucas, who was grappling with the weight of loss. Great loss.

Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire

Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire

"You're someone who's in love and just found out that a very specific dream might not happen the way you always imagined. It's normal to grieve that." "Grieve," I repeated, turning the word over in my mind. "That's exactly what it feels like. Like I'm mourning the loss of something I was never even sure I'd have." "And what are you going to do now?" Gwen asked, her expression a mix of genuine curiosity and concern. I shrugged, trying to make the gesture seem casual, even though it carried the weight of a decision I'd already made on the walk to the pub. "Accept it, I guess," I said, forcing more confidence into my voice than I felt. "It's not like I have much of a choice here."

The Crimson Accord

The Crimson Accord

Like it was a not so subtle reminder of the big event for this ball, I was going to be on display apparently. Throwing myself on the bed, I plucked my headphones off the side table and blasted the playlist I had made after Vivienne’s death. It was full of tears and grief, but I needed to feel something. Anything concrete. I felt like a deer about to be offered to a lion and tonight there would be more than one lion ready to feast on me.

The New Age King // Book 2

I try to keep the sympathy and pity out of my eyes, but I know he can see it. "I don't know how to grieve. Lucian is the last person I grieved for. I was only a pup then, and I didn't understand my best friend's pain, but now I do...I get it. I will never see my oldest pup smile again. I'll never see his eyes shine. He was my first. I was so proud of him," Garrett mumbles before sobs overtake him once more. I nod and look down at my lap. "I know all about grieving...Dagahra and his followers slowly killed everyone I ever knew. Now it's just me," I whisper, and Garrett begins to rock his son.

Great quicker read overall. There were unexpected plot twists and well developed banter throughout. The author brings life to different attitudes that aren’t commonly written into novels, which I loved. My only note is that I WISH the author would write more about the lives of Sara & Tab’s pups!
