stretching my arms to wrap around the small ball of energy at five in the morning, I pulled my son for a hug. The small man groaned. He didn’t like to be called a baby anymore. “Griffin.” he gruffly murmured, trying to sound mad. He didn’t like to be called baby and Griff-Griff. As I opened my eyes, his piercing blue eyes, as deep as the dark ocean met me, reflecting a cloudless sky. The long raven wavy locks of Griffin were messily falling like curtains in his face.

Crystal and Dante followed her in, both sitting on the sofa with sour expressions. "Winnie, what's the deal with Ms. Griffin? How did she end up with that jerk, Sebastian?" Crystal asked, clearly perplexed. Dante, equally disgruntled, rubbed his cheek and muttered, "And I got slapped! Damn it! Just thinking about it makes me furious! She's just some lady from the Griffin family, what's with all the pretense!" Whitney turned toward them, glowering at Dante. "Could you tone it down a bit?"

Old Man Grimsby’s family had leased a nearby mine to the Good Rock Mining Company. The mine had been closed down for the past 12 years, but there were still buildings there, surrounded by security fencing. The security fencing wasn’t hard to get past. Local kids and thrillseekers had already seen to that with wire cutters.

To help Bethany carry the baby safely, Griffin, who had more than ten years of climbing experience, decided to go to Cloud Mountain himself to find the herb. He did not want his family to worry, so he texted Xandra only after he arrived. Xandra had a bad feeling all day. It was past 6 p.m. and Griffin was still not back. She tried calling him, but his phone was turned off. Worried sick, she called Hudson right away. Hudson contacted the rescue team and led the search himself. He did not dare tell Bethany what had happened. He was afraid it would upset her and affect the baby.

His claws tapped against the edge of the table, a rhythm of barely contained rage. He approached the map again, his piercing eyes scanning the surrounding territories. Each mark on the map told a story of conquest and bloodshed. Rockshore Bay’s place among them was inevitable in Malrik’s mind—another trophy to solidify his reign of fear. "Hugo Griffin," he murmured, his voice low and gravelly, filled with venom. "Your throne is built on borrowed time."

She saw them move to enter the ruins of the castle, breaking everything that was in their way to rubbles and when they stopped at the narrow doorway to the dungeon of doom, the griffins began to propel their wings in powerful motion and send out powerful shockwaves one after the other towards the entrance until the ancient stone started shaking powerfully along the surface before being blown away into tiny pieces. Tiana looked for the other griffins. She called for them to come to help her group and then at last, she called for Yalck. The pair of deep eagle eyes looked straight back at her, and she called out his name. "Yalck… si rigluin wux. confn forth. Hurry…" she beckoned to him tenderly

"I know, Mom. That's why he's afraid of you." "He?" The question caught in my throat. Griffin tapped his temple lightly. "The part of him that's in here. It knows what you're capable of." He reached for my hand, squeezing it with surprising strength. "And so do I." Together, the four of us turned from the cliffside toward the villa, toward packing and planning and whatever impossible future awaited us in the Swiss Alps. Griffin led the way, key in his pocket, shoulders straight, walking the line between boy and legacy, between host and inhabitant, between past and possibility.

Stefan asked in disbelief. "We are here to look for the white oracles's cove ,not to meddle with a griffin's business," Amira said irritatedly. "SHUT UP!" Zion yelled at her which made her jump a bit. He flew into the air following the growl from the Griffin. He felt something strange for the first time. Like there's something pulling him to go to that Griffin's location. He closed his eyes and listened to the sound vibration. And when he found the exact location of the Griffin, he did not hesitate to flew over there and see what's going on.

“You’re gonna make us deaf.” The band’s music died with a plummeting trumpet. “Pardon my intrusion, milord and lady, but is that what I think it is?” Aki and Temujin rose and tried to make themselves as presentable as possible. “Yeah, this is Griffin,” Temujin answered. “He’s a Harpax eagle. One of the very few left. And this here is Aki. She…”

But then I wasn’t ready for that. "Start speaking," I ordered her immediately when I was sure she'd dragged enough air in her lung, my gaze cold and sharp on her. "So… when I was still in Bloodmoon," she began, her voice sounding steadier. "I noticed Griffin was obsessed with two places. One was his late mate’s grave. It’s in a faraway cave deep in the woods. Then there’s this abandoned lab across the sea. I don’t know what he does in these places, but he goes there a lot."
