He shrugged before smirking, "Alright, what's your opinion?" Kol shrugged. "I'm just scared that she might be in danger." Adam nodded then gazed at him through hooded eyes, "Or?"

he choked out. Birger spun in time to see a large black and tan wolf with glowing ice-blue eyes come barreling toward them from the trees. Before their minds could process the need to seek shelter, the wolf vanished, leaving Gunnar striding purposefully in its place, his face etched with a fierce determination. Gunnar waved a hand at their astonished faces. "Yes, yes, I know. It's a shock. I will explain all later. Right now, there is an emergency to take care of."

There was a bedside table next to her with a glass of water and a bucket next to the bed. "Hello," her voice came out in a cracked whisper. "Hello," she said even louder. "Is anyone there!? Can anyone hear me!? Please. I need help!" she said as she started to cry. This was real, and she had no memory of how this happened. How long had she been here now. Did she wake up prior to this and do the same thing? She looked down at her ankle, which burned the most. It was raw, and it looked like burnt flesh all around. She felt the metal around her ankle, and it burned to the touch. She was being captive with silver. Is that what was making her so weak?

The city lights were blurring into a sea of neon, but for the first time in a week, I could breathe. ​I was no longer "Martin," the junior editor. I was Hannah. And the King was alone in his castle. The transition from the sterile, suffocating silence of the 40th floor to the pulsating bass of a BGC lounge was exactly the shock to the system I needed. We stopped in front of the building's doors which had a large man guarding it. A huge sign hang above the doors written "Golden Silver" in gold and "men only" was written at the bottom in small, silver italics. "No cutting in line," the bouncer said as he folded his arms. Higan gave the intimidating man a black card and he took it. After reading through, he handed the card back to Higan and stepped aside. We walked into the building and I squinted my eyes at the small lights that illuminated some parts of the room with different colours. Some people danced around while others talked in corners.

The scene unfolding before I had my eyes stretched in shock and disbelieve. The guard stationed out my door sat on a chair against the far wall. His lip bloodied, one eye black, and his hands chained above his head to the pipes running from the floor to the ceiling and ankles tied down on the front legs of the chair.

One thing for sure, it was way too big to be just a penthouse but who am I to argue? " Don't be deceived by the size and the exquisite decorations. It's made out of recycled materials so it's pretty much affordable." " It is? Double wow." I mouthed. He chuckled and tussled my hair. Electronically opening the gate, we drove in and we parked at the garage. There I also noticed there was a car in it. Packed for a boys camp out. We got out of the car and walked to the main entrance where he put in the house password and just like that, the door opened and we walked in.

All things I'd have been perfectly content never knowing. Once the strangers were completely mutilated beyond recognition, they were finally begging for death. Blake smiled more widely than I'd ever seen as he leaned closer to them, appearing almost euphoric in their misery. They confessed that they were from the Silver Moon Pack in Maine. They had formed an alliance as a promise for reinforcement in their own ongoing disputes. Luckily, Silver Moon Pack was a smaller pack and not a true threat to us. However, it wasn’t clear how many other packs may be forming alliances with the Bois Sombre Pack—it was likely they were not the only one.

The car stopped in front of a glassy gate which I assume to be our destination. After the security check, they open the gate and Mike keeps driving. Just when I thought I've seen it all, Mike parked in front of a huge mansion. Everything about this place screams money! I can't help but gasp at the sight of the beautiful castle standing right in front of me. Of course, Mike didn't miss the surprised look on my face, as he smiled at me through the front mirror.
