Swallowing the pill was another matter it hurt like a bitch, and I felt as if I chocked on it as it went down.

My mother coos as she rubs my back up and down in a soothing motion, her palm gliding up and down as more vomit rushes out, the sick feeeling not disappearing any time soon. "Sabine, are youi okay?" I hear the soft voice of Valeria as she enters the room, her light footsteps following her gracefully. Spitting into the closet bowl as the last vomit rushes out, I get up, feeling a buit better, the sick feelin not reducing in any way though as I rinse my mouth to get rid of the taste of the vomit. Once I was done, I popped three of the sweetened mint in my mouth to clear my breath of the smell as well.

My throat is sore as scratchy as I take sips of the water. “Let me help you up. You need to rest.” I hold up a finger, telling him to stop, and he does. I move to my knees and pull myself up as I flush the toilet and move to the sink. Grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste, I scrub my teeth and tongue as I gag, needing to remove the acid taste in my mouth. Once happy, I look in the mirror and fuck. I look like I’ve been hit by a truck and died and then been dug up. “Urgh, I feel like shit.” I lean against the sink as I exhale loudly as I lean my head back and click my neck.

Addictive, soothing. I try to make myself think like that but it only works temporarily before I am repulsed by the metallic taste in my mouth again.

I just put it in my mouth and waited for the pain to go away. The blurry images suddenly stopped appearing. "What's happening to me? Oh, god! Why does it hurt so bad?!”

“Did you not eat at all today?” “No, I didn’t,” I admit. “I just… it’s been a very busy day.” I take another bite, thinking that maybe it’s just my tastebuds that are acting up. But I’m still getting a note of bitterness that I really can’t shake off even when I drink some water. In fact, the more I eat, the more bitter it gets. With my mouth burning with the taste, I finally get up. “I think I just feel bad today. I’m just going to go to the bedroom and rest. Enjoy the dinner.”
