His eyes narrowed, and his thoughts were spinning wondering who might send the message.
Just then, his phone rang, breaking the silence. He sat up straighter when he saw the name on the screen.
“Chief Grant Hudson.”
James answered quickly, “Detective James speaking.”
A deep voice came from the other side.
“James. It’s Hudson. Morning.”
“Good morning, sir,” James said, adjusting his tie. “Everything alright?”
Chief Hudson didn’t waste time.
“I got a tip, and a serious one. It says Nicholas Amaro is behind both fires… the Crimson Barrel and Iron Flask.”
