“Big fucking mistake.” I growled, glaring at Skylar and her friends behind her.
I reached forward and grabbed Skylar by the hair, pulling her head down as I kneed her in the face and then I elbowed her on her back and she fell to the ground. I spun around and kicked Sarah in the stomach and she flew through the air and straight through the floor to ceiling wall and landed on the pavement outside.
I then looked at the third girl that was standing there, eyes really wide with shock and fear and I punched her in the throat and while she was gasping for air I kneed her in the stomach and as she bent over I punched her across the face and she fell to the ground as well.
I turned around to look at everyone else that was staring at me in shock around the cafeteria and I stood over Skylar who was still on the ground and I walked towards the door of the cafeteria.
I looked over to see that same guy who pushed me into the locker standing at a table with his friends, all of them looking really shocked as well, but the one that was standing at the back is the one that caught my attention.
I had seen him earlier in the day, and no matter how many times his friends would hurt me or say something to me, he wouldn’t laugh or join in. He just ignored them as much as I tried.
It wasn’t long after that when the Principal came to find me while I was sitting outside and he told me that I needed to follow him to his office.
When I got there, I sat in his office and he wanted to know what happened in the cafeteria. But I didn’t say much. I didn’t tell him about the bullying. There was no need to. I could take care of myself. They could throw whatever they wanted at me and I could throw it right back at them. There was absolutely no reason why I should tell him what happened.
At least, that’s what I thought.
It wasn’t long after that when I saw the woman in the office get off of her chair really quickly and I looked over to see a man in a three-piece suit walking into the office.
He walked straight past the office lady and slammed open the Principal’s office door. Mr. Bennett jumped up from his seat immediately and came around his desk and bared his neck to my father immediately.
“Alpha John. I am so sorry that I had to call you in here like this.” Mr. Bennett said. But dad just stood there staring at him before he turned his softer gaze on me.
“What happened?” Dad asked.
“I got jumped so I defended myself.” I said simply. And my dad looked back at Mr. Bennett with his Alpha aura pushing forward slightly. I could tell that my father was pissed off but he wasn’t saying much. And Mr. Bennett was feeling the aura wash over him as he slowly lowered to the ground.
“Who were the girls?” Dad asked, his face was now void of any real emotion at all.
“Skylar, Sarah and Stella.” I said.
“You do know that those three are known around the entire pack as the three S’s for a reason. Sluts, skanks and stoners.” Dad said, and I had to stifle a laugh as he said that.
“I know that Alpha John. But I need to show that I am not playing favorites and I need to punish Ava for what she did.” Mr. Bennett said.
“No you don’t. My daughter will not be punished for defending herself.” Dad stated, matter of factly before he looked at me.
“Yes, sir. She won’t get any sort of punishment at all.” Mr. Bennett said, sweat dripping from his face while my dad’s aura was still pouring out of him.
“Let’s go Ava. You have classes to get to.” Dad said as he opened the door and I walked out, with him right behind me.
“Wow.” I said as we walked into the hall.
“On your first day of school.” Dad said, looking at me. But I just shrugged my shoulders.
“They really did deserve it.”
“I don’t doubt that. I just didn’t think anything like this would happen on the first day. I have to get back to work. Can you just tell me one thing first?” He asked.
“Okay.” I said.
“Where the hell did you learn to fight like that?” He asked. And I just smiled at him as I turned and walked away towards my next class.
When school was over I walked out of the building and I couldn’t wear my hoodie, which felt like a security blanket, because it was all wet. But I started walking down the streets of the city as I was heading towards the suburbs. Watching all of the human’s going about their daily lives, completely unaware of what surrounded them at my school.
I saw Leo pass me in his car with a few friends, but they were going in the opposite direction. So I guess they weren’t going straight home.
It took me about an hour to finally walk there, but when I got home, I used the keypad to get into the side gate and I walked onto the sprawling landscaped yard and I looked up at the three story old stone style mansion that was in front of me.
It actually had more than one house on the property, which was 20 acres, but this was the main house.
I walked up to the front door and I saw my stepmother Sandra, standing in the massive living room with really high ceilings and floor to ceiling walls.
She was tapping her high heel on the hardwood floor and she was staring straight at me as I was walking through the door.
“Who the hell do you think you are?” She growled at me.
“Excuse me.” I said, confused by her anger.
“You got into a fight today. With three girls from school.”
“Yeah. Dad already sorted that out.” I said.
“Well, I am friends with their mothers.” She said, and I rolled my eyes.
“Why am I not surprised? Are you the one that taught the tramps how to dress? Because I knew there was a resemblance.” I said. And she walked over and slapped me across the face.
“That’s one.” I muttered to myself.
“What?” She asked.
“You’ll know when you get to three.” I glared at her. And she didn’t know what to think when I said that, or how to interpret the look on my face. So she just turned around in a huff and went to the other room.
I turned towards the stairs and I went up to the third floor and I went into my bedroom and I hung my bag on the hook on the wall.
I got all of my books out of it and I placed them on the desk that was looking out the large window of my bedroom.
I opened my laptop first and I logged into my account and I opened my emails to see if I had any new ones. But unfortunately, there wasn’t anything new there for me.
Hey Noah,
I know that we haven’t spoken in a while and you were giving me some space while I moved into my dad’s house. But I’m all moved in now and I would really like to talk to you again. See what’s happening in your life and everything that’s going on back at your place. I look forward to hearing from you.
Ava
As soon as I finished that email I went to my ensuite bathroom and I got in the shower, but it wasn’t as peaceful as I had hoped.
I was startled when the door slammed open, while I was in the shower and Leo was standing at the door glaring at me.
I got out of that car, taking the phone with me, and I got back in the car with Noah and Mason sped off down the highway again. "Are you fucking crazy? You scared the hell out of me." Noah yelled. "Well, I'm glad that I did it." I said, showing him the phone. "What about it?" "Leo just called to ask if I was dead. He set these bastards after me." I said. "Did you say anything?" Noah asked. "Only that I was going to fuck him up. I think he took me seriously." I said. "Probably. Since you just killed two men that were meant to kill you." Noah said. "Exactly." I smirked. "Don't fucking do that to me again." Noah said, pulling me closer to him. I knew that he needed me to be sitting near him just so he could calm down. It was the calming effect of the mate bond that he needed right now. I guess I must have really scared him. "I know that you are used to only thinking about yourself. But you can't do that anymore." Noah whispered as he inhaled my scent, right next to
Once we got Noah back to the cabin we had to pack up all of our things as fast as we could. If there were stealth warriors hanging around then there was a good chance that they had already made the call to tell their boss where we were. I'd never seen those men before, so I didn't know if they worked for dad or not. But we just knew that we needed to get out of there. We packed up the car in record time and got out of there as fast as possible. Noah and I were in the backseat while the other two were in the front seat. Noah had picked up the pieces of the necklace and he was examining it in the car. Trying to figure out what it was made of. It had to be something made of dark magic to take my memories the way that it did. "Any ideas?" I asked. "None. I don't have a clue about what this material is." He said. "Alright. Well, keep the pieces. Just in case." I said, holding out a ziplock bag for him to put them in. "Just in case what?" He asked. "Just in case I need to ha
As I was sitting on the ground staring at the ring, I was pulled out of it when Mason yelled at me and attacked the warriors that were approaching me. I tried to get to my feet, but I knew that I was really badly hurt right now. At least a few several broken ribs and a broken ankle. I saw Noah slowly getting to his feet and he had blood all over his face. He wasn't looking too good himself, but that didn't stop him from attacking the warriors that were coming near me. He was going to protect me with everything that he had. As the last warriors realized that he was the only one left standing. The only one left alive, he took one last effort to lunge at me but was grabbed my Noah who had extended his claws and ripped the warriors throat out. Dropping his dead body on the ground. Noah ran over to me and kneeled down in front of me. "Ava." He said, looking me over. Seeing that I was badly hurt. But I was staring at him like he wasn't even there. I looked back down at my hand a
I got up out of bed and I looked out the window at the moon that was shining brightly right into my bedroom and I was more confused than ever. If my mother wasn't actually my mother, then what happened to her. Noah mentioned knowing my mother at one point. Now I need to know exactly everything that he knew about her. I got changed into a grey sweater, tights, socks and sand shoes. I left the house and I started jogging around the lake, trying to clear my head. I was running through the woods, dodging the branches, jumping over the ones that were on the ground, it was almost like an obsticle course. Usually something like this was really enjoyable to me, but today it wasn't. I don't know why. There was something going on with me that I couldn't explain. Something that felt strange and foreign. I hated this feeling and I just kept running until I didn't feel like this anymore. But the problem was, the feeling was going away. And by the time I was passing the house for the fourth ti
Knowing the lengths that my father was going to in order to get me back, made me realize that he was more desperate to get me back than I thought. And Noah was determined that it was because he had an agreement with Elias, or he was in Elias’ debt or something like that. Either way, he only wanted me so he could trade me to an Alpha that was going to use me for whatever the hell he wanted. And Noah was damn sure he wasn’t going to let that happen. I was just upset that we had dragged Jax and Mason into this, but they said that they wouldn’t have it any other way. They were going to be beside Noah’s side, no matter what. Even if they were now labelled as kidnappers. That still didn’t make me feel any better. But I had to try and get my head straight. I had to find out what Wesley and his family wanted with me and I needed to find out who my real mother was. It seemed like Isabella Matthews never even existed. Everything about her was just erased to make it look like she was never th
We had no idea where the hell we were going. We just needed to get the hell out of the city. We didn’t know how many allies my father had so Noah was behind the wheel of the car and he took all the side streets until we finally hit the highway and we kept on going. I was sitting in the front with Noah while the other two were chatting in the backseat. “So, if Elias is your father then does that mean you are next in line to his pack?” I asked. “Not anymore. He disowned me when I said that I wasn’t going to go ahead with his plan to kidnap you.” Noah said. “But you didn’t know that I was your mate back then. Why would you not want to do it?” I asked. “Because I saw what he did to your mother. I wasn’t going to let him do it to another girl.” He said. “So, the sadistic Alpha raised a son with morals. That’s unusual.” I said. “Yeah. We need to find somewhere to hold up where they won’t think to look.” Noah said. “I don’t know my dad that well. So, I don’t know where he will think
