Here I come. “Young Lady, Amber.” The sound of my last name coming from my left stops me. I stare at Von Hades or Hades, as I like to call him. He is a member of the top class and a monarch, who serves as the primary liaison between the chambers and the clan. He plays a significant part in maintaining harmony among the four chambers and ensuring that they are profitable for the nation. I only have faith in Hades among the elite group, or more specifically, I have faith in his loyalty. He was admitted by his father and advanced through the ranks to become who he is now. Like me, he wants to keep the East name in the ruling position.

“You are not dead, My lady. I know you have a lot of questions about how that is possible, but I will let the king handle that.” I straightened, my heart spiking at the sound of that. I wasn't dead, so that's a plus, but a king? “The king? You mean like Satan? I asked, my voice shaky in fear that he may appear and behead me for calling his name since he was pure evil, but the ladies only let out giggles. “No darling. Hades is the king of the underworld. Some may call him the devil, but he’s simply the guardian of the underworld. There’s nothing to be scared of, dear. Your energy is almost as white as snow.”

Lynara clearly didn't respect him at all! After hearing what Hades said, Lynara hurriedly bowed in fear. Compared to Marsh, who was seeing Hades for the first time, Lynara had a clearer idea of what Hades was capable of. Hades had been in the area for around seven years, and from what Lynara knew, he had also killed at least seven people so far. Hades was a cruel man who was way out of Lynara's leagues. After all, the latter was just a minor thug.

“Tonight? I thought we were having a quiet night in. Or is this another surprise trip to a random country, perhaps a quick detour to the North Pole for ice cream? Because honestly, Hades, your travel plans are harder to track than a rogue asteroid.” Hades chuckled, a genuine sound. “No. Not a trip. More like... an event. You asked about my passions. My other world. The raw, untamed part of me. You saw the bike last night. Tonight, you’ll see where it truly belongs.” He paused, his eyes gleaming with an absurd type of happiness.

“Oh oh.” “Who?” I asked, following his gaze. The bike cut off. Silence—then chaos. Hades swung his leg off the bike like he owned the ground beneath him. Tall. Calm. Alpha energy screaming without him saying a word. His eyes scanned the crowd once, bored—until they landed on me. My breath hitched. “He’s here,” Hayden muttered. “Who’s here?” Lena whispered urgently. Hayden didn’t look away. “Hades.” My heart slammed against my ribs.

There, in the sky was a figure dressed in black, black wings flapping loudly from his back with a tail flipping in the wind and two horns in his head, dark divine energy flowing through him before he disappeared. Hades. He had come to watch Persephone for the last time, and now that he was sure she was gone, he was going to Olympus. The thought made Leonidas smile. "Not for long,"

he spits. I squat down to his level. I raise my shirt and there, just above my waistband on my hip, is the Damned Forsaken crest of a raven with a skeletal wing and head sitting atop a skull with a halo leaning against it on one side and a gun on the other. His eyes widen in acknowledgment.

Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!" When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come and see!" I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind her. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, Pestilence, and plague, and by the earth’s wild beasts.” As she quotes scriptures, she throws her head back and laughs maniacally. “You don’t want to do this, Lana. Please, fight this,” I grit out.

The second we step through, I remember exactly what Elysium is. The paradise of the dead. Clear skies. Rolling green hills. Blossoming flowers. Fruit trees. Peaceful, radiant beauty. We have to jog to keep up with Hades’ pace until we reach a small wooden hut with a thatched roof. Hades pounds on the door. It opens to reveal an older man—mortal-looking, stooped, with long white hair. “Lord Hades,” the man says, dropping to one knee. “Rise, Odysseus,” Hades replies. “I have a mission for you. These wolves and witches are going to Tartarus—and they’ll need a guide.”

It was my mate lovingly looking down at me and right beside him stood a man, not just any man but Hades from my nightmares…the lord of the underworld. “Alvaria I would like you to meet my other…Hayes, Odeus Hayes,”
