"Are you certain you want to trade your most precious gift for the Underworld's protection?" A chilling, low voice echoed through the temple. Hades materialized from the shadows. He was the King of the Dead, radiating a biting cold that felt entirely out of place in the Temple of Light I’d served for two years. "I'm sure," I said, a little shocked he had answered in person. But I quickly took a deep breath and steadied my voice. "As long as I can leave this place, I'll give up everything."

Their jagged limbs glistened with what looked like blackened steel, and their roars shook the earth. "These are the Jagganighs," a voice narrated, distant yet clear. "Ruthless celestial entities who sought to destroy the earth. Even the Great Gods could not face them alone." The scene shifted, and I saw humans—ordinary men and women—standing before the gods. Fear and uncertainty marked their faces as the gods spoke to them. "They asked for a catalyst," the voice continued, "a human pure of heart and mind, who could channel their energy to the mortal realm. But no one came forth with joy."

"If Alpha Hunt finds out you tried to harm his heiress, he won’t spare you. He’ll destroy you." The guard burst into laughter, bitter and cruel. "Alpha Hunt?" he mocked. "You mean the coward who’s currently on the run?" I froze. What? "What are you talking about?" I asked, voice cracking. He took a step forward, whip twitching in his grip. "Your mighty Alpha fled—with his precious Luna and darling daughter. Ran like a rat when the Mancini war began." I felt like the floor dropped beneath me. A war? I didn’t even know there was a war. I had been locked in this hellhole for weeks.

“Good luck with that. Maddox may be gone, but there’s a new villain in town.” I didn’t follow his logic. “Who?” He sighed into the phone. “Hades…god of the underworld.” 21 Hades I produced the highest yield of crystal of my career. I handed it off to our distributors then told my cooks to get back to work. With Maddox out of the picture and my power unrivaled, I intended to eliminate all other competition and kill anyone that got in my way. Life was good.

I know what he wants. He wants an heir. I can’t feel my wolf nor can I reach out to my mates. My heart is shattered. Since he has brought me here, I have cleaned until my fingers bleed. I am going to leave this pack before my birthday. After deciding this I finished my food and water and lean back into the bed thinking of ways to escape. I perk my ears up when I hear someone in the hallway. It sounds like two people gossiping. I hold my breath and strain my ears to hear what they are saying. "I heard he killed his only sibling that's how cruel he is." Gasps "Alpha Hades is indeed a very cruel Alpha. I pity whoever his mate may be." Humming in response they walk too far away for me to hear anything more. At the mention of Alpha Hades my heart started to race and I felt this strange tugging.

Hades’ voice turned dark as he mentioned the Rogue Alpha. “You will find him,” I reassured him. Hades nodded, “he can’t hide forever,” he muttered under his breath. “see you later, princess,” he whispered, placing a chastised kiss on my lips. I blushed, no matter how many times he called me princess, I still feel butterflies fluttering in my stomach. “meet up with Priya and Brittany, before they burn my kingdom down,” Hades teased, closing the door behind him.

Then, in a voice rough and unsteady, Hades whispered, “Anita, I may not be your father, but I want you to know… I believe in you. I’ll protect you. No matter what.” The words pierced through the fog, cutting through the remnants of the drug that clouded my mind. Slowly, reality began to settle in, the edges of the memory fading as the present came into focus. I blinked, my vision clearing, and the face before me shifted, the shadows receding to reveal Alpha Hades. His expression was one of pain, a deep, raw emotion that filled his eyes and softened the hard lines of his face.

"Jaz, have you heard of a man way up in the Northern Frontier, far from our country? There's someone called Hades?" Jasmine's cheeks flushed with excitement as she nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I've heard whispers about him when I was in Centropolis. “Hades emerged as a powerful figure a few years ago. They say he's vanquished countless foes and commands respect far and wide." Jennifer continued with vivid descriptions. "I learned about him at a business gathering a year ago. A prominent figure described him as a young man with the face of an angel but the physique of a formidable demon. They say he's like a god sent to protect our nation by divine beings!

Still not being able to see his face from the good he was wearing stepped closer trying to see him more clearly. “It’s ok Princess. You don’t have to be nervous, I’m Hades and you.” He said in a melodic accent taking his hood off to shake his hand, he smiled showing small dimples form at the ends of his cheeks with his fangs popping out with. He had his black hair with streaks of white flopping as with every word he spoke.Not noticeable for some or at least for me, he hard a 2 cracks like a cement bolt on the right side of his face no longer than the other almost touching his eyebrows.
