I looked down again and frowned when i found out that i am in a tall building and i also saw nearby buildings, the most beautiful ones was the one in front painted with a dirty white. Its door is in the middle of two golden symbolic crown. My jaw slacked upon realizing that it's a palace. I hid myself when i saw some guards observing. I slowly walked backwards, now feeling afraid and i just found myself in a dark hallway.

She found her loading her rifle. “There are a lot of them out there. It looks like he’s brought his army,” Maggie muttered. Brandon ran to the window. The dark of night was filled with red eyes as far as he could see. It was like a field of rubies reflecting the light of the moon. Tara moved beside Brandon and silently took in the sea of fiery eyes and once again recalled Liam’s words. ‘You have near you very dear souls who, together with you, will be able to stop the evil that has been unleashed.’

He ventured to pick it up with his hands but the temperature of the halo melted off his hand, up to his shoulder level, and while he was screaming in pain and agony, Theresa gave him a death blow, clamped the halo with the hook rod, and ran off. She opened a door which she wasn't familiar with, and noticed as soon as she got in that the place was a morgue. She spotted the body of a girl and immediately ran towards her. She felt her skin and noticed that it was beginning to turn cold - it mustn't have been long since she died, and without thinking twice, she turned the girl over and placed the hot, glowing halo on her back. The halo melted into her skin, and the injuries from the burn healed

“Vera… Gabriel… the halo around the moon… it’s changing.” I felt it before the words even hit the air—the temperature in the room dropped. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as I turned toward the messenger. The walls of the tent seemed to pulse, as though the very land itself was reacting. “The halo…” the messenger’s voice shook. “It’s thickening, turning red at the edges.” The room fell silent, the weight of the words hanging heavy. Everyone turned to the large window, their gazes drawn to the sky outside.

"The water is rising!" Luke shouted, wading through knee-deep water that was flooding the corridor. The magnificent city of Sanctuary was screaming. "I am the book." He kissed Cale’s freezing forehead. "Now warm up. That's an order." They lay there in the dark library, wrapped in stolen velvet, while the house settled around them. The water had stopped rising. The door held. But Elion knew the truth. The tide wasn't gone. It was just waiting for the next high water mark. And Cale... Cale was running on fumes.
