He looked like a living feather duster from a distance!

The man they said had burned three villages to ash without blinking. The man they said could not be killed, though no one could explain why. Guards spoke of him in low voices. Children were warned never to look him in the eye. And above his head, glowing faintly through the rain, was a number. 0 DAYS. Elara stopped walking entirely.

I gripped Kaelith’s hand tightly, he remained silent and refused to look at me. “Kael, would you rather die than risk becoming one with Red?” Tears fell from my eyes again without me realizing it, I could no longer hold back my sadness. Especially with the curse slowly eating away at my body. “I’m afraid of hurting you, Vaelora,” Kaelith finally said. “You’ve never hurt me, Kael. You know that,” I said, contradicting him. “That’s exactly why, my evil soul is within Red, he has already hurt you. I used to be an evil human.”

It was bathed in a dazzling radiance that blinded every entrant, including Sian, Uzair, and even Tobias and Raymond. Six luminous orbs were each surrounded by a halo as they floated in the air directly above them. The glowing halo was a protection, and they could more or less discern what lay within the halo. Even seasoned level nine supreme saints like Uzair could feel their souls tremble when they approached the scorching flames. The dark figures standing in every corner of his empire cast their voices around with evil and planning for him to fall. The heart of it was Valentine. A fierce burning radiated out of her unyielding eyes. She did not know everything, and he feared if she ever knew would forgive him for it. He killed his own father for heaven's sake. In the novel, he was described as someone who didn't feel any guilt, sorrow, or love and has a hobby of torturing his prisoners. But of course, it changed when he met the heroine. I didn't think it was love, but he became quite obsessed with the heroine and did all sorts of crazy things in order to possess her. The point is, he was a devil with the face of an angel. And that devil was currently standing in front of me. How come the villain and the villainess met at the marketplace? Fuck! This isn't supposed to happen!

“You’re ahead of my projections. That’s flattering.” “We aim to please,” I murmured. We dropped back down through a maintenance hatch... ...into a circular chamber. Empty. Except for a chair in the center. And a biometric halo rig around it. I stopped dead. “Memory extraction frame,” I said quietly. Vale stepped from the shadows at the far edge, unhurried. “Portable edition,” he said. “Very proud of it.” Observer One raised his weapon. “You’re outnumbered.” Vale smiled. “No.”
