She shrugs as she hides her face behind her book. Before I can respond, the door creaks open, and Xander fills the doorway clad in his usual, suffocating black suit. My phone buzzes in my pocket as Hannah's eyes lift, a genuine smile spreading across her face. "Xander." I fumble for my phone as I say, "You aren't this excited to see me." Xan grins with a smug look. "Because I have a personality and you don't." He waves a colorful bag at Hannah. "Look what I got you."

I did a little twirl in the middle of the room and started combing the bookshelves to see what treasures I could find. I was just too excited to have found this place. I came across a smaller leather-bound book that had a weird symbol on the front and when I opened it, I realized that it was a history of the Hunter's. I decided to keep that book just in case I needed it. I was totally in my own world when I felt someone’s arms go around me and breath in my ear. "I see you found my favorite place in the house." My body shivered at the contact. I thought that I was going to melt into a puddle right then and there.

She smiled. It was a truly wicked smile, slow and devious and made all the more gruesome by the blood dripping down her chin. Light headed as I was, I still felt a chill as those dark, otherworldly eyes met mine. “Didn’t quite go to plan, did it, little hunter?” I smiled right back at her. I had an idea. I couldn’t doubt myself – I didn’t have any other options. “Yes,” I said, falling to the ground and grabbing the makeshift stake, hoping with my whole heart that it would work, that it would kill her, “it did.”

' Sighing, I opened the page, where I left off from. "Ha!" exclaimed Beauty, almost angrily, "know that I would lay down my life to save his, and that this Monster, who is only one in form, has a heart so humane that he should not be persecuted for a deformity which he refrains from rendering more hideous by his actions. I will not repay his kindness with such black ingratitude." I squinted my eyes, feeling the headache getting to me. Maybe it was not a good idea to read books now. I closed the book and kept it on the nightstand.

My complaints fell on deaf ears, and he left me to start reading. My first choice was about werewolves. I was already involved with one, so it was only natural that I would want to know about them first. To my surprise, the book had nothing to do with learning about them. All it had were recipes and literature on how to kill them. I guessed this was the hunter's version and side of the supernatural world. I browsed through the others, and they were all the same.
