“He’s here?” “Yep.” Grace nodded, but my eyes were already brushing past her, and settling on the man shaking the rain from his umbrella. His hair was even more tousled than usual – it must be windy outside – and there was colour in his cheeks, making his bright eyes look even brighter. He made my knees wobble without trying. “Shit.” Grace grinned, the picture of smugness. “Harper doesn’t know, does he?” “There’s nothing to tell,” I snapped. Grace’s smile deepened.

Once in a while, he would raise his head up and look out the window, watching the activities of the world. "What are you reading?" Alex jumped a bit in his seat, startled by the voice that had spoken. It was Amanda, her eyes were still closed as she spoke, but she had taken out her iPods. "Uh... Never trust a dead man, it's a murder mystery book." He told her. "Never trust a dead man?" She laughed. "Why would you trust someone already dead?" She finally opened her eyes looking over at Alex. "Well, it's... It's hard to explain, the book explains it all."

So far, no tantrums whatsoever. “Coow Miwk, what you weadin’?” Clutching a handful of colored Sharpees, Clancey doddered toward him to check out the manuscript he was burying his head in. “Just something for work. In the future.” “Why duh book have no covew?” Her scribbled left hand flipped the pages when he put the papers on his lap. She dropped the Sharpees on the couch.
