The mechanical hum of the engine was the only sound as the convoy smoothly accelerated, climbing higher into the jagged peaks of the northern territory. The scent of copper iron and fresh rain still lingered faintly on Ethan’s clothes, a lethal reminder of how effortlessly he had broken Jaxon beneath his heel.

I feel my heart stop as I look up at all of the constellations. I even see a shooting star go by. I turn back to the man before me. “How?” I don’t even know how to finish the question, I'm too stunned.

"AHA! He held up a card that had been stuck to the back of another card in his wallet. 'Did the guy snap under pressure?' it looked like some form of business card. Ignoring the looks he was getting he held the card up into the air.. 'The Highlander? Wrong country friend...' Daphne thought to herself rubbing her temples. Suddenly the lights in the elevator all shut off. "EEk." Alison let out a light squeak. "Power outage?" A single light lit up on the ceiling, like a spot light it searched around the elevator carriage until it landed on the card Collen was holding up. After a momentary pause the lights turned back on, and the elevator began moving again rising even higher.

My eyes follow the trails, watching as they lead to the side of the massive mountain which they are known for. Growling behind me pulls my attention and I turn to run back towards Sebastian but stop dead in my tracks. I would say that I’m a rather free spirit and I’m quick to laugh and smile. And now is no exception as I watch an annoyed and injured Sebastian attempt to make his way up the slippery rocks. He grunts in pain as he steps and the rock slips out from under him and he catches himself as he lurches forward.
