I perched on the TV, watching as he destroyed my home. I'd imagined a thousand times how Jayden would react when he found out I was dead. I always hoped he'd grieve for me. That would've meant I meant something to him. But now, watching this, I wasn't sure it counted as caring. I just felt tired. All I wanted was for him to remember to bury me right. After a full day of chaos, he finally wore himself out. Jayden slowly crouched down, his hand hovering near my face before jerking back. He buried his face between his knees, trembling faintly. “What—” It was a guy, human.
