“Yes,” Caelum said. “You and I take the left corridor. Lucien takes the right. Draw its attention. We can end this or survive trying.”
I nodded, fear and determination mingling in my chest. We moved, careful, silent, each step deliberate. The labyrinth groaned, walls shifting, shadows twisting.
Then, from the corner of my eye, I saw it: another figure, taller, faster, and far more menacing than any soldier we had faced before. Its armor gleamed, but its movements were almost organic fluid, deliberate, terrifying.
