Daphne lowered her head and gently sipped the black tea for a long time before she whispered, "Not bad.Quite good.” Griffin pulled out a letter from his coat pocket. Daphne recognized that this was the invitation letter for her to go to the London Conservatory, she remembered that she had lost it, why was it in Griffin’s hands? Griffin’s long, slender fingers, gently snapped. He looked at Daphne, "Are you still going to London? I heard you play the piano just now, is your foot not healed?"

Narrator’s POV. Daphne looked like she had seen a ghost and so did Fredrick and Sarah. They were the least expected people on Daphne’s list; maybe not Sarah, but Fredrick coming there was a huge surprise to her. They on the other hand were not expecting her to be there, was she even the one? She looked completely different; her face had lost its glow and her lips were pale, her hair was way longer than before and Sarah made a mental note to give her a major haircut as soon as possible. Her eyes had nasty looking bags under them and was that a baby she was holding?

The candlelight flickered, throwing tall, twisted shadows along the walls. Then she saw her. Rosa. Dressed in white, her hair loose around her shoulders, her face pale and empty. But her eyes—those once bright, tender eyes—were black as pitch, hollow as the night. “Rosa?” Daphne whispered, lowering the blade slightly. “What are you doing?” The girl didn’t answer. She stepped forward, silent as a ghost, her fingers curling around something behind her back. “Rosa—talk to me,” Daphne said softly. “Please.”

Only time would reveal the answers she sought, as Daphne prepared to bridge the gap between her supernatural companions and the enigma that lay before them. "Hi, Anna." Daphne began as she held the phone tighter. A groan was heard from the other side of the phone. "Daphne? It's been ages." Daphne chuckled nervously. Why was she sounding sick? "Are you alright?" "I think we have been poisoned. Not a big deal… We have been vomiting greenish slimy substances since yesterday." There was a retching sound. She raised an eyebrow. "Can you get poisoned? I mean.. can witches get poisoned and they wouldn't know? Don't you read minds or something?"

Persephone scoffed, rolling her eyes off and turning to the pair standing behind her. “Whatever.” Freya muttered, withdrawing her sword back and moving back, taking out her water bottle and sitting on the rock to witness the greatest battle that was about to take place. “You guys okay?” Persephone asked, noticing them. “Yeah…” Daphne nodded but before she could complete her words, her body lost its strength abruptly, passing out from exhaustion. “Daphne!” Randall gasped, holding her in his arm, laying her down and holding her tenderly, worried about her.

Daphne managed to answer in a low voice. She pulled her kids in one last embrace before ushering them out of the door to the dining hall. She was nursing a cup of chamomile tea, her fingers tracing the rim of the porcelain mug as if still convincing herself that the silk, the warmth, and the safety were real. Sitting at the head of the table was Arthur Sterling.
