Harry Potter Herbology Lessons Novels & Stories

Josh stopped at large double doors, and pushed one open for Miranda to walk through. The lecture hall was the same as many others. It had fold down seats like old cinemas had, and narrow tables in front of them for students to rest their notes or laptops. You entered at the top of the lecture hall, following the steps down until you reached the platform where the lecturer would stand. A projector hung from the ceiling, facing a large white board for it to place its picture upon. It smelt the same too. A mixture of books, coffee and dust.

I stood there for a long time, just staring as her sleeve went red, and then the red began to spread further, dripping down the edge of her cot, staining the sheets that were pooled on the floor. “Miss Hale?” Mrs. Hawthorne’s voice sounded far away, muffled, like I was listening from underwater. “Miss Hale, are you alright? The timer has begun.” I bit my tongue, the only way to snap myself out of it. My vision cleared, and I turned, stumbling into the rows of plants. The cure for the student’s condition. I had to find it. Focus, I thought desperately. Focus, Mira. Breathe. I forced myself to move further away from that scent, scanning the beds on either side of the walkway. Herbology had nev

Sunshine screams as the mixture flying through the air strikes her down. I step inside the protection ring. I reach out to make an opening and pull her onto our side to protect her, but before I can pull Sunshine into my magic protection, one of the minions grabs Sunshine. He hits Sunshine one time with the salty-smelling potion, and it penetrates her body.

I nod, like I already knew that–when, in reality, she never introduced herself to me. “Eh, she’s all bark and no bite. She’ll warm up to you.” That sounds impossible, especially considering she seems to hate me for no reason other than that I exist. “What’s your next class?” Gregory nods at me, and I pull my schedule out of my backpack. “Um… Herbal Traditions?” What the heck does that mean? Gregory must read the confusion on my face. “It’s stuff like foraging, what mushrooms to eat, what plants are medicinal.”

You never know when herbology will come in handy. I was paired with a nice witch who showed me some tips on distinguishing between different types of herbs as we put together a salve of sorts. The professor explained that it was a good way to heal burns. He wasn’t as young or handsome as Atlas, not even close. It was really odd to me that he was a professor in the first place - none of them had been as young as him so far.

He eyed her seeming to think. “Are you a witch?” “Not exactly. I don’t have the kind of magic some of them do. I deal with herbology mostly, some fungus and the like. Real boring stuff.” She gave a smile, and the mute actually smiled this time as well. “Describe this lily.” The first said and she did. He didn’t seem to know but mute one did. Though she guessed he wasn’t mute anymore, and probably had a name. “That’s the frustimora.” He supplied and a light seemed to go on.

"It's part of the lesson plan." Seven little syllables and her protest died on her lips. All she needed was that nudge, and her next breath was a sigh of resignation. "Fine, then. Just tell me what you need me to do." Thank you, Serenex. "For starts, go change into something less... that. See what Abbie did? Like that, but for teachers. Best you can do." Now that it was part of the plan, there was no resistance, no sulking. She would never do anything to disrupt my plans, even made-up sex lessons with her students. Candy nodded and padded quickly down towards her bedroom without another word.

Felix seemed to bask in being a hero and brought Roxie some beautiful flowers, a sheepish little grin planted on his face at mine and Cherry’s praise of him. By the end of the second week the five of us attended all our classes together, went out for meals and had formed a happy little group. Roxie’s skin had healed immaculately as we hurtled towards another exam. Dark Arts had been the focus for the week, an area not everyone has natural talent in, but it was fascinating. To see what you could be capable of with your wolf to summon up energies, healing, help crops and even see the future. The possibilities were limitless. Roxie’s eyes had shone as Professor Landin explained dozens of differ

His shoes make an obnoxious squeaking sound with each step, and I find myself clenching my teeth. “So, that’s Lenny. He teaches Herbology,” Ariah smirks. “If you want to die a slow, monotonous death—have classes with him.” I’ve barely had a few seconds of conversation with him, and I’ve already managed to shut him out. “He seems… pleasant.” Ariah nudges me with her elbow, giggling. “Understatement.”

Chu Xun shook his head and said, "It's not about the map. I want you to help me find some herbs." "I thought it was a big deal. No problem." Old Harry agreed immediately. It was very easy for the mercenary guild to find some herbs. Chu Xun asked old Harry to find a piece of paper and a pen for him. He wrote down all the herbs that he needed and drew some simple illustrative sketches. Old Harry took the piece of paper and ran his eyes over it. He was dumbfounded. "Is there any problem?" Chu Xun asked. Old Harry smiled wryly. "I've never heard of these herbs, except for the Fiery Green Lotus. Maybe I'm just poorly informed."
