“He’s the enemy, remember?”
“Enemy?” I repeat. “Because he’s an Aperture?”
“Yes,” Justin said simply, momentarily triumphant.”
“In case you haven’t noticed, so am I.”
The wind went instantly out of his sails.
“You know it’s not the same thing,” Justin said, pulling back.
“Really?” I snap back, shooting my hands in gesture. “Aperture, Aperture. You’re making it pretty crystal clear.”
“You’re not the enemy and you know it.”
“Nor is Perrin,” I say. “He’s not the bad guy and you know that but look at how you behaved at dinner. I couldn’t get more than a cave-man grunt out of you. It was like talking to a brick wall!”
