“Who exactly is he? Tell me!” Silence. “Come on! I deserve to know!” There was a long pause and she said the words that made my knees buckle and my stomach tighten with unease. “The ruler of Alphas and kings. Alpha king, Azrael.” Alpha king? Azrael? Alpha king? Ridiculous. “Azrael is the Alpha Prince, he’s not king yet,” I corrected. Another long pause before she spoke again. “This is all I can do to help the child, I can only warn you. He greedily bit into the tender flesh in front of him and drew the deliciously tingling blood into himself. The young man gave a slight moan, but remained unconscious. A few moments later he exhaled for the last time and died.

The Royal Guards surrounded Azrael, their swords pointed at him but Azrael’s world seemed to narrow on Caius and he couldn’t see anything else. “Y-You a-asshole,” Caius struggled. His face turned pale and I felt his hold on me loosen until I was finally freed. As if that was Azrael's cue, he mercilessly threw Caius on the floor. He was being reckless. The two of us might be beheaded because of what he did.
