As Susan finished chanting the library motto, the lectern made a sound of thousands of book's pages being flipped at the same time, and books started to appear in the empty places of the bookshelves. "Oh… There are some books behind 'ok ish' wards." Susan murmured and pumped magic into the lectern.

There were cobwebs everywhere, and I was not shocked because no one was in a hurry to learn that. Setting my satchel down on a nearby table, I pulled out the spell book and flipped to the chapter on protection. The symbols and instructions stared back at me looking very foreign. I ran my fingers over the pages, tracing the intricate designs as I whispered the first few words of the spell. I felt the air charge around me and for the first time in days, I felt a flicker of hope.

She runs upstairs and runs back down, now wearing a backpack. ‘I’ll be back in time for the ceremony.’ She yells. ‘Okay, sweetheart.’ Leon says. I decide to sneak out and follow her. I tried to think about how it went; most spells were in Latin because it was the wizard's natural language. I half expected to see it glow amongst the other books, exposing itself, but nothing. I presumed it was not in the spot where I stood, so I moved to the next, and the next row, repeating the spell. A loud shrieking sound came from the beast. If he wasn't angry before, he sure was now! Think Hazel, THINK! But what the fuck could I do? I was just a girl, a stupid girl waving a stick at a nightmarish beast. What could a stick do? Suddenly an idea popped into my mind. I lifted the stick higher and made sure it was directly pointed at the beast. "EXPELLIARMUS!" I shouted. But nothing happened. FUCK! This spell always worked for Harry Potter - most of the times.

I climb up the ladder to pick up the spell book. I have to start with the simple spells, so I begin to read them out as I study them. After reading the first one, I practiced it. It didn’t work at first. I started by summoning one of the books from the shelf, but it didn’t work. I tried it up to six times, and it seems like I will never know how to use it. Then suddenly, I shut my eyes and took a deep breath as I recited the spell again. Instantaneously, I feel a strange breeze, and I flick my eyes open. I gasp in shock as I watch the book I had been trying to summon begin to move in the air. It is exactly in my direction, and when I drop my hand, it suddenly falls to the ground.
