Third POV The room was silent as a graveyard, or more silent because even the birds dared not make noise over her. She snapped her fingers, and the spell book, which was hanging a distance away, flew to her. "Neptune..." She said, looking at the book. As soon as she said this, the book immediately opened to the last page, where the Neptune spell was.

I needed to find my limits and stick to them. As I read, I came across a spell that caught my attention. It was a spell that not only camouflaged objects, it made them invisible to the naked eye!. Cool. I knew immediately that this was the spell I needed. I closed the book, and with a wave of my hand, I cast the spell on the book of witch mysteries. The book disappeared from my sight, but I knew it was still there. I smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. I put the book back on the shelf and lay down on my bed, feeling exhausted but content.

Hazel found her legs moving as Halle commanded, then Halle opened up her bag again. This time, she took out a stick. “This is a wand. Open up any spell, then read it out and point it at anything,” she said, and Hazel grabbed the wand. As soon as it came in contact with her hand, everything felt right. “Grow?” she said, with her face contorted, and the book increased in size. She flipped the pages and found a color spell. She said the words in the book, which came out as, “By the power vested in me by this sacred book of witches, I ask you to become whatever color I ask you to,” pointing her wand at the wall, and to her surprise, everything turned blue.

I said firmly, holding out my hand for him to hand over the book. He gave it to me and I didn’t bother to thank him, although it was at the tip of my lips, but I pushed it down. I looked over the page and indeed, it was a spell titled ‘the warlock initiation spell’ It was just a few paragraphs. There were no elements needed nor level of power noted down. This is it. I had a feeling. I looked up at them, and saw them watching me intently. I looked down at the page again and felt a little hesitant. Like I wasn’t sure if I should do it right this second or not.

She took a rough breath. “Hey, that's not how you take it off! You have to use spells and move your wand slowly and carefully. Remember, Delia, concentrate, don't use anger. If you just rely on anger, everything will fall apart.” Winky said with a serious face. He was very annoyed with Delia who never understood magic. Delia repeated it again, this time trying to concentrate more and use her feelings gently. Finally Delia was able to move the book well. She cheered happily until she hugged Winky tightly.

She runs upstairs and runs back down, now wearing a backpack. ‘I’ll be back in time for the ceremony.’ She yells. ‘Okay, sweetheart.’ Leon says. I decide to sneak out and follow her. She ends up by the lake and pulls the spell book out. ‘Aqua Bedew.’ She says, twirling her wand. I watch as all the water comes together like a tornado. Then, all the water from the lake is gone and swirls up in the air. ‘Cool.’ I say, standing behind her. She flinches in fright, and the lake's water drops like a giant blob. The impact causes water to splash onto us.

I skimmed through the book, my gaze falling on a spell that seemed simple enough - a basic levitation spell. I read the incantation aloud, my voice low and uncertain, focusing on the book in my hands. Nothing happened. The book remained stubbornly in my grasp, as ordinary and grounded as ever. Frustration bubbled up, and I tried again, this time louder, more forceful. Still, nothing. I tried again and again, with no success.

Holding the nameless book up, I continued, "Dad gave me a book of spells to go through so if you excuse me, I'm going to make a potion to, I don't know, bring back the dead." "Please don't," my mother warned, "You can practice doing something else. Maybe you can practice moving from one room to another. What is it that the mortals call it again," she snapped her fingers, her eyes glazing over in thought, "teleportation, I think that's it." "I can do that?"

I asked, confusion evident on my face. “There are a lot of things that you've made me do for the first time,” he said and motioned to me as we moved toward a deserted hallway. He held out his hand, and with his palm facing upwards he chanted some gibberish tongue. Making hand gestures as if he was trying to pull out something from thin air. As he casts the spell, a shimmering, astral light manifests before him, taking the form of a magnificent, ornate tome. The Codex umbra as he went on to explain to me materializes in his hands.

The minutes stretched into hours, and just when I was beginning to think we’d made a mistake, I saw a figure at the end of the room The person was dressed in black, and their mask was a ghostly silhouette of a wolf's face. They moved with a deliberate, almost predatory grace, their eyes searching the room with keen intelligence. My heart pounded in my chest when I realized I was watching The Raven.
