- Chapter 9 - Agate's spell had sent Dorin back in his room with Seb. Seb took out his slate and has been writing vigorously since they arrived. He's been asking him so many questions when all Dorin wanted was to have some breakfast. I snapped with alarm. I leaned closer, clenching my fist with my heart thumping inside my chest. Dismay spread through my body as the thought of her waking up filled my mind. My body shook in fear and her last threat to me echoed in my mind. "She can't wake up, she can't," I muttered, shaking my head at the nightmare. I had to mutter the spell and cast her into a deep sleep before she would wake up. I straightened up and grabbed her pale hand before slamming my eyes shut to begin the spell.

‘Charles, you don't understand the consequences of this spell,’ he pleaded desperately. But I continued to shake off his grip, my determination unwavering. I had spent months researching and preparing for this moment, and I couldn't let anyone or anything stand in my way. The power surged through me, and soon I will have the power to change everything. 'Ekleípō.' I mumbled under my breath as I focused all my energy on casting the spell. The air crackled with anticipation, and a blinding light enveloped me, signaling that the spell had taken effect. I whispered, my voice causing her eyes to widen. With a cruel smirk, I prepared to cast a sleeping hex that would put her under until we reached the camp. The spell left my lip like a regular word, sounding so smooth I almost regretted abandoning my root for so long. I expected the effect of the spell to kick in within seconds, but for a full-blown minute, the brat still kicked and tried to scream. I was about to hit her with another when her eyes began to roll to the back of her head. The sudden absence of her struggling left a ringing in my ears.

The spell was written in elegant script, with detailed instructions about hand movements and the proper pronunciation of each word. "Just follow the instructions exactly as written," Professor Leda Morrigan said. "Take your time." I stared down at the page, my heart hammering. Around me, other students were practicing their own spells. Someone was making flowers bloom from seeds, while another student levitated a feather in precise circles. They all made it look so easy. I placed my hands over the small candle on my desk and spoke the words written in the book. "Ignis veniat ad me." Nothing happened.

It was probably something against me or whatever. As I was getting ready for the meeting for people interested in magic I was practicing with my magic and getting even stronger with my spells. I only knew three spells so far but I knew if I kept practicing I could learn more soon. I was really getting into the one spell that allowed me to make a shadow servant who could go into the shadow of a person I either picture in my head or say their name. It at first could only hear what is happening and briefly affect the area around them but since I was getting stronger with my magic they could now increase the number of people I could spy on and freeze their shadow for one minute.

I answered honestly. "What kind of spell were you using on him to make him pass out?" He asked. "It was a dark spell that would cause him a lot of pain, enough to either make him regret his words or faint," I answered and then got on the bed slowly and sat down next to Harvey, looking at him with sadness. "I know you are a very powerful witch and that you don't look at him like that or feel anything special for him, but that shouldn't make you hurt him like this. I'm sure whatever he said was out of anger; he didn't mean it," he said.

"The Hibernation spell. This isn't poison; it's witchcraft." As soon as Chad finished speaking, he smelled a strange fragrance. A wave of irresistible drowsiness overcame him, making him feel sleepy. Tiffany smirked triumphantly. "That's right, this is the Hibernation spell. Those affected by it will sleep like snakes in hibernation. Sleep now!" Thud! Chad tried to resist but succumbed to the spell's influence and fell asleep. Tiffany walked over and kicked Chad a couple of times, sneering. "I thought you were tough, but you're nothing special."

Suddenly, a tiny burst of colorful sparks erupted from the tip of her wand, and a small scroll materialized in her hand. "This, my friend, is the 'Rhyme-Rite' spell," she explained, unrolling the scroll. "It's foolproof, guaranteed to make anyone rhyme for a day!" I marveled at the intricate symbols and enchanting words inscribed on the scroll. "This is incredible, Sophie! So, how do we use it?" With a mischievous grin, Sophie whispered the instructions. "We just need to recite this incantation and point our wands at the person we want to rhyme. But remember, we must use our powers wisely, and only for the sake of mischief and good fun!"

I couldn’t risk letting any soul hear what we were about to talk about. She lifted both of her hands and closed her eyes. “Somnus conticinio, ab ungue supernaturale velo animam meam. She always did the spell when we wanted to talk about something secretive, and the boys would always get mad whenever she did. “Okay, so, Aiden asked me to be his girlfriend,” I said nervously, scratching my head.
