It’s all I think about. So I ready everything I need and recite the spell. The wind howls angrily, I’m levitating and the book sets itself on fire but it doesn’t burn. The pages remain in tact and for the first time all night. I feel scared. “You’re either very brave or very stupid for summoning me.” I suddenly get dragged into a realm of darkness and there’s a figure in front of me but I can’t make out their face. All I can see is a pair of green eyes glowing in the dark. My heart beats frantically in my chest. I want to curl up in ball and I want t o reverse the spell and put the books back where I found them because all I feel coming from those green eyes is evil and an insatiable hunger.

For someone who was trained to read body language, I found this excessively annoying. A moment of silenced passed between us before she said with a voice filled with resolve, “Let us begin.” Walking slowly around me, she said in a confident tone that was free of malice, “The training consists of three parts… physical, mental, and magical. Your muscles are soft. Therefore, we will begin with the physical. It does no good to know magic if your body is not performing at its utmost best. Magic can be energetically depleting.
