THE CURSE OF LUST
I wanted to be invisible to everyone else.
Something in him shifted. His gaze dropped to the bag and lingered on the pile of books inside, darkening. He rose, restless, and pulled one free, his fingers tracing the brittle pages as if searching for a fault line.
"Did you look at them?" he asked.
"No. I didn't have time. I came straight back here," I said. "Why?"
His expression grew grave.
"Because I found something at the Bodleian. Old texts from your time. Writings on spells, curses, witches. I have been working on them for days, trying to decipher them. And I think I have."
