He was becoming a liability. I raised my hand, my fingers curling as I prepared to cast the spell that would bind his will to mine permanently. I wanted to see his eyes go blank.. I wanted to see him crawl. "Get out of my head, witch!" he hissed. I snapped my fingers, throwing the invisible threads of power toward him. I expected him to collapse.. I expected him to scream. But nothing happened. The magic hit a wall an inch from his chest and dissipated into a harmless spark. I froze with my heart skipping a beat. I tried again, pushing harder and pouring my rage into the spell.

A loud shrieking sound came from the beast. If he wasn't angry before, he sure was now! Think Hazel, THINK! But what the fuck could I do? I was just a girl, a stupid girl waving a stick at a nightmarish beast. What could a stick do? Suddenly an idea popped into my mind. I lifted the stick higher and made sure it was directly pointed at the beast. "EXPELLIARMUS!" I shouted. But nothing happened. FUCK! This spell always worked for Harry Potter - most of the times.
