Adeline’s pov I tried not to cry again. This was something my tear ducts were used to, it was almost a routine to watch it dry up and so I sucked in the tears and thought happy thoughts. Thoughts that comprised of the good old earlier days. Looking back to the sequence of events which brought me to that house of brooding mystery, of sinister undercurrents and disturbing echoes. I sat on a wooden bench I had found as I became lost in thought all alone in the darkness.

"We... don't have... such thing," Adeline replied in a hoarse voice, gritting her teeth.

It wasn't long before she found out that she could read everything despite very slowly. Ximena/Angela’s POV Aunt Sadie remained silent until Penelope had finished with Raven and put her to sleep. “I don’t know why, but I feel the need to help Hudson get out of there. Something tells me that if he doesn’t get out soon, something terrible might happen. She was bleeding profusely and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get her to open her eyes. I couldn’t get her to call me ‘mommy’ once again.
