She blinked her eyes few times before realizing that she would have lost her life if not for this person. He followed her all the way here to give her a backpack. She looked at him. He was beautiful. He was perfect. She felt like she was dreaming. Her mind mocked her saying it was a dream, he was a dream. She wanted to believe it was a dream even so it wasn't. It was very much real. This meant he would only have twenty-four hours before the spell was over; that’s if he could survive. “How do you feel Hector?” Jakes voice held a worried tone, he had watched him grow from a boy to a man. If something happened, it would be heart breaking for him to tell his parents. Hector didn’t answer, instead stuck his arm to the side allowing flames to form encasing it entirely. He was getting a feel for our gifts. “Hector?” Athena had moved to his side, her hands cupping his face seemed to bring him out of his daze.

When I was a kid, people used to tell me to think of a hero. We view them as individuals who can save the world. Most people would think of heroes like Batman and Superman. But what about the heroes who hide among us—the men and women in the line of duty? People who are never afraid of what could happen to them. We all have someone we could call upon who would save us from the harm that might come our way. In many ways my Father was my hero in so many ways . Sometimes when I was alone I used to wonder if he had a hero.

Because whatever this is It doesn’t make sense. And he doesn’t deal with things that don’t make sense. Not anymore. Still He doesn’t realize That this time Someone actually is watching.

ZARA POV "Are we now giving each other nicknames? Chief wound-healing cutie?" Hero asked, his voice laced with a playful tone that sent a little shiver down my spine. The widest smile I had ever seen on his face stretched across his features, making him look almost boyish. It was a smile that lit up his whole face, and for a moment, I found myself lost in it.

"You're going to grow up and become a man Jefferson. I just hope that when the time comes, you'll be ready." He looked at me, a small sad smile on his lips. "Be ready to face dangers and betrayals. Because being a hero isn't easy. Hopefully, you'll have people who will be by your side till death. Loyalty, is the greatest gift a hero can receive." He stood, setting me down to occupy the space he once sat. We stared at him as he smiled and walked back into the house. I looked to her. "Would you stay with me if I ran head first into danger?"
