Love Under Fire

Love Under Fire

Jake said, looking relieved and shrugging. I gasped, still open-mouthed, looking at him in amazement. I shouldn't be, but that made me a little more enchanted by him. He looked like a brave knight, ready to do justice to whoever needed it; he didn't mind using his brute strength if it was to reduce to nothing all these sons of bitches who liked to grow up against those who couldn't. For me, he became the true definition of a hero.

An interesting start. I’m enjoying it so far. Don’t lose your way in the middle of the story though and rush things for people like me who are now invested. If so I will come back and give you half a star. Lol. But you are a great writer.

Thinking about this book... I love it so much, but compared to my first one, this one isn't getting a good audience, which makes me want to give up... but I'm going to keep writing because I just love this book

I lie, if he knows Spanish I bet if we started talking more he would say a few things not expecting me to understand "Oh, a girl that knows one sentence in another language. I like it," he says making me blush "Sorry, I just wanted to thank you for helping me yesterday, I guess fighting isn't very easy when you're extra scared," I laugh nervously "It's okay, ma. I'll help you out whenever you need it," he says "Sorry, I have school tomorrow, and I need to do my homework," I tell him preparing to end the call "I can help if you'd like," he offered politely

Becoming My Stepson's Wife

Furthermore, he was not planning on going any time soon, until he got enough evidence that he was drugged. Hero made his way to his car, asking the driver to take him to his mansion at the bright avenue. Even though Hero lived with his family, he had other houses in different areas. As they drove to his Mansion, Hero phone started to ring and he looked at the caller's name. "What do you want?" He said immediately he pressed the answer button at the same time, his expression darken. "You sound upset... However, I don't think your anger should be directed at me. I wasn't the one who laced your drink,"the caller said from the other side of the phone and from the sound of his voice he seemed am

She handed her drink over to one of the other girls and straightened her black-wrap dress. Andrea chewed the inside of her mouth. Just because he had a scar on his face didn't mean he was an anti-hero. It didn't define who he was. Zain was...classic hero material. Not that there was anything wrong with Deadpool or Wolverine, but they weren't Zain's type.

He’s my Guy

He’s my Guy

The Hunter guy spoke again, gaining my attention and I watched him pull out a small ziplock bag from his pocket which had some pills. "What is that?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously and he just laughed at my reaction. "Relax, I am not trying to drug you or anything. This is completely safe and so much better than getting drunk." "That doesn't look safe at all." I added and tried to walk away from him but he stopped me by jumping in front of me and blocking my way. "Hold on, you can trust me, Chloe. Imagine being high and not getting any side effects of alcohol? Cool, isn't it?"

"He shot you." "He did." He nodded. "And it hurts like hell." "You're not bleeding." She looked at his chest again. "You're supposed to be dead." "I told you sweetheart, it's you and me.. forever." He cupped her face. "Nothing is taking you away from me ever again." Tears streamed down Saira's cheeks. "You're not dying?" "Definitely not." He chuckled and winced. "Uriel Yamaguchi knew what he was doing when he made this mask for me."

He answered taking and piece of bacon and shoving it into his mouth looking at her as if daring her to say sometime. She shook her head and went back to take the rest of the dishes and placed them on the table. There was a knock on the door and she went to open it. The first thing she saw the Niko, the Troll, she frowned looking at him. “Greetings, I assume you the queen mother or I say Luna and mother of our king.” Mercy frowned even more, who was this person? But before she could answer Niko spoke. “My name is Niko and I am the king’s helper.” Mercy nodded.

I am on chapter 21, so far it’s a good story and I plan on reading the entire book. But I have to mention the amount of grammar and spelling (mostly the spelling) errors detract from the storyline. Sometimes you have to reread something so it makes sense. Overall good though.

He cursed when he reminds himself that he didn't have his number, up until he remembers about his email address that he can log in via his laptop. He sighed and finally relax as he had found a way to contact Blair, but his eyes were so heavy and he finally drifted off to sleep until he woke up to his mother by his side. "Ian? honey...why didn't you tell me that you got hurt on duty? and who's the woman saying that she's your partner from work, and where's Blair?" "Water..." he smiled at her mother and seated himself to the headboard. He was feeling extremely parched and was glad to see his mother and she gladly help him with a glass of water.

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“That child. Her courage is remarkable. She’s a hero.” “Heroes sucks,” said Briane suddenly, his face looking like a blank sheet. “They always sacrifice themselves for others. And then what? They die! They haven’t even thought of the people they would left behind.” “That’s not true, Mr. George.” Mr. Heirt made his way to Briane’s stretcher, his footsteps echoing in the somber silence reigning in the tent. “If they are not to exist, the world will be in chaos, with no one to save it. They must be acknowledged. Just because they sacrifice themselves doesn’t mean they’re not thinking of those they’ll be leaving. In fact, they are the ones that prompted to fight despite knowing they’ll die.”

The world building is well-crafted and just by the narration na hindi gumagamit ng deep english words, it really brings the reader in the world of the mc. Prologue pa lang, one can tell the mc is someone strong-headed and even though she lost her memories, that characteristic didn't change.

Frequently Asked Questions

"Is This Hero for Real?" is a breath of fresh air from the traditional style most heroes are represented in. Rather than a hero already strong and powerful, we get to follow the story of our main character who is an average guy unexpectedly granted superpowers. He is so easy to identify with and true to life, you just can't help but love him. But being a superhero is not all that it glorifies. He's got responsibilities in his normal life to think of, plus now there's an evil-doer after him.Imagine one day after school, or that afternoon after work, when you unexpectedly come in possession of some fluke ability or powers and need to defend your city from evildoers. Wouldn't you be at a loss? This is exactly how the hero of our story must feel. It's just like seeing a good friend of yours getting into all these strange adventures and misadventures but you can't even find a map book to borrow from him.If you love superheroes, but have grown tired of the single, brooding type, then this is your man. He's not the best at what he does, but he tries, and it is precisely this quality that makes "Is This Hero for Real?" stand out. The character development from an 'ordinary man doing one's duty' to a responsible hero is written with great feeling. He doesn't undergo an overnight transformation: there are all the gaffs and booboos, points of insecurity and moments where he simply wants to give up. But each time, he picks himself up again; that's what a real hero does, right? The storytelling is both humorous and heart-felt. It has weight to it, but is light-hearted. The author has cleverly played around with what in fact makes someone a hero, leading to some very shrewd discussions. As a whole. 'Is This Hero for Real?' is an engaging, amusing read that will make you laugh, make you cry and most of all, make you think. Don't pass this one up whether you're a novice to superheroes or have been with them all along!
