Falling into the devil's bed
I could still see her brilliant smile and bright eyes if I blinked.
“She’s in a terrible state,” the doctor’s voice pierces the air. “She has stress induced cardiomyopathy with episodic supraventricular tachycardia.”
“Doc, English please.”
He exhales sharply, it sounds like a brief chuckle. “Her heart is stressed, terribly so. From her test results, it would appear that she has been under severe stress and pressure for prolonged periods of time. This has made her heart sensitive and prone to irregular beat patterns. This evening she had a panic attack, that happened to trigger everything else. Would you know anything about that? Does she have PTSD by any chance?”
