Drip, drip, drip I feel feather like droplets break its fall on my head. What started off as tiny drops, now begin to pour mercilessly down on us. I look to the heavens, and mouth a thank you to the Lord above. This heavenly shower tames the flaming beast, making it crouch down to its master and disappear – only leaving it destruction behind. How amazing would it be, if it took its dreadful acts with it – but that would not happen, for what’s done is done.

Marigolds are yellow and hibiscus is hue, but the sky is blue, pale blue, it is ours, ours, ours. Let it rain mangoes, let it rain like the reddest tomatoes squashed by a grinding stone, then paint the ceilings with that red, paint the sky red; the colour of our love, for it is ours, ours, ours. The moment we walked inside, I spread my arms wide like I was unveiling paradise. “Welcome,” I announced grandly, “to healing.” “This is a grocery store,” Lyra said flatly. “A magical grocery store.” The place smelled like fresh bread, herbs, and roasted coffee beans. Warm lighting reflected off polished floors while people wandered around carrying artisan cheeses and bouquets like that was a totally normal way to spend an afternoon. Rowan looked mildly overwhelmed. Lyra looked fascinated. Perfect. I grabbed a cart and shoved it at Rowan. “You’re driving.”

It took only 4 flours to climb there. I started to climb and when I opened the door to the roof, there she was. Sitting on the cobblestones and tossing them over the edge. “Hi,” I said when she looked up at me. She did not respond instead choosing to look away. “Okay,” I whispered and sat next to her. I allowed her to have her peace and adjust to my presence for another five minutes before speaking again. “Penny for your thoughts?” “Do you think there’s heaven and hell?” She asked taking me aback. Where did that come from?

POV: Clara The little grocery store smelled like stale popcorn and old wooden floors. It was light-years away from the high-end boutique markets I’d gotten used to over the last few months. There were no imported cheeses, no organic juices, and definitely no private security guards waiting by the door to carry my bags. The luxury was gone, and the transition felt like dropping from a warm bed straight onto a block of ice.

The people on the street didn't seem like angels; they had no wings, so they must also be inhabitants of heaven. She walked and walked, happy that she could walk, but eventually got tired as the sky started getting brighter and the day started to break, and so she decided to take a short nap on one of the benches in the park. She was equally surprised that one could feel tired or sleepy in heaven, but that was the way it was, and within a couple of minutes, she drifted off to Dreamland on one of the benches.
